Yesterday my sister Bobbie brought over a gift for me from her daughter, Beth who lives in Mass. In the early 1960s Bobbie married and moved to Mass. She asked mother to send her mother's chicken and dressing recipe. Bobbie kept that handwritten recipe all these years and when she visited Beth over Christmas, she gave her the recipe. Beth had the recipe printed onto white kitchen towels for gifts for my sisters and me. Mine now hangs in my kitchen in my aunt's handmade China cabinet.

What a wonderful gift Sara.

Thank you all for your sweet words. In the early days of last year Beth was diagnosed with bone cancer and underwent a bone marrow transplant donated by a young man. The beginning of this year she is cancer free and was able to have dinner with her husband at a restaurant. Beth is a special lady to have gone through what she went through and to have such a giving spirit.

Sara, that is the best gift I've heard of in a long time. Cherish it, and don't get it all messy with chicken and dressing...lol.

A treasured gift for sure, Sara! The handwriting of those that have passed is so very precious. :)

Thanks all for your sweet words. Yes, it is wonderful that Beth is cancer free. I'm so thankful for the young man that went through the pain to give her life.
