Oh my . . . I have bazillions of buttons! And I use them on all kinds of projects. Aprons, quilts, merit badges, journals, cards, tags, ATCs . . etc., etc.
I'll think of some ways I can share them.

I am late to the party, still recovering from a nasty stomach virus and chest cold. Karen, buttons are a great theme and they have so many stories to tell. I am still using buttons from my grandmother's button box. My aunts worked in the Dallas garment industry in the 1940s when Dallas was known for high fashion. Most of the buttons are from that era.

-3‘. Degrees Fahrenheit this morning so I decided to watch a bit of TV until I get my rear in gear! lol!

Watched an episode of ‘ sewing with Nancy.. and guess what? She had a guest who was all about BUTTONS!
Several things she mentioned… if you store your buttons in a jar or tin, remove the lid.. most vintage buttons need air to circulate.. she even said to play with your buttons..
Display your prized buttons.
Secondly she mentioned that there are Button Conventions..

During WW1, you could buy a ‘special’ button (approved by the Military) that was like a locket for a photo, that your loved one could wear on their uniform.

I had no idea about these, and my dad was career Army..

Thank you Grace for sharing what you learned. I love the history behind things like the military button! That’s so cool. You’ve prompted me to go take pictures of my button jars…. :)

Here are my buttons! In the first picture (excuse the mess…) is my entire button collection. I’ve bought some shaped wood buttons for my crafting, snowman noses, and Christmas buttons,.The second picture is my vintage button collection. Some were given to me by a friend and others I’ve collected!! :)

I haven't found all my buttons. There are more around here somewhere, but you get the idea.

Yes they are Grace. I have my craft buttons in them but all my vintage and sewing ones are in other containers. Ido admit I use some of my vintage ones for crafting too.

Karen, I love buttons and this is a terrific theme for Jubilee. I have my Nannie's buttons (Dad's Mom), my Grandma Mellie's (Mom's Mom), my Mom's, my Aunt Mary's (Mom's sister), and what I have collected over the years. These pictures show I have buttons in all sizes of jars and my basket. I use them in all kinds of things. Thank you for choosing this theme!
