Yesterday I got to spend the afternoon with a very sweet 12 year old Autistic boy.. It was so wonderful to walk him around in the garden, to touch and smell the plants, sweet to stinky.. then wander around our 13 acres and to visit with the neighbor's horses..
I do not know who had the better afternoon.. He... or me...
Blessings come in all shapes, sizes and ages..
Yesterday my day was filled with Blessings...

It's wonderful you got to spend your day with someone so special. I'm sure he will never forget the beautiful garden and your kindness.

Sounds like an amazing day! What you did with him makes such a huge impact. More people in this world need to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life just like that. We have so much we can learn from autistic children.

Oh Krista,, so very true!
I slowed down and enjoyed watching him absorb all the sights and sounds and scents around him..
I enjoyed focusing just on him, and learning how easy it is to just be in the moment with a special child.

I have arraigned a few more play dates for us between now and the end of August.

That is so sweet Grace. There are so many on the autistic spectrum. Sometimes you don't even realize it when you are with the person. I'm sure he enjoyed the time you spent with him. It's such a joy to invest our time in others!

Grace, what a gift your gave and received by spending time with a young autistic boy! I bet he enjoyed the time just as much as you did too.
