Since my niece's family left this morning, I've been antsy to do something besides quilting. Then my eye was caught by this bench that came with the 1940s vanity my sweetie got for me. The material was butt-worn on the edges.It was easy to remove the screws, pop off the tacks, cut the new fabric using the old as a template, then stapling it on and rescrewing it to the frame.

A simple thing, but it looks fresh and new. Now the suitcases in the background are whining that I need to prettify them too!

Looks great Vanessa!
I love watching the show Flea Market Flip where they do creative pieces out of junk.
Your transformation reminded me of that show.

Perfect Vanessa! I love your vanity. My mom used to have my grandma's but I don't know what happened to it.

Love it, Vanessa. The fabric is so pretty. It really is easy to redo and put new fabric on. I would use the old fabric as a template too.

@Vanessa aka Audra Rose,
The tan suitcase under the window reminds me of the set that I received from my parents! Each of my sisters and I, when we started High School, would receive one piece of luggage for Christmas each year. My mother ordered them from good ol' Sears and Roebuck. I think the style was called Forecast perhaps. My oldest sister's set was white, my next sister's was red, and my set was tan. I still have the train case, but the others have since gone on to destinations unknown to me.

I think it's a Samsonite, and it's been spray painted sparkly rose gold.
