Sara, thank you for the sweet surprise in the mail yesterday. It really made my day. The hankie is beautiful. I remember as a little girl, learning how to iron. We ironed the handkerchiefs. The first thing we learned how to iron.

I finally got around to getting photos of my collection. There are 2 missing. One is in my purse and the other in the pocket of my sweater in use. This photo is of the newer ones. I use the for everyday.
These are my holiday hankies. The smaller I purchased in a set of Christmas cards. I kept two and gave the others away.
One lone valentine but then it is only one day. I believe this one was given me by a farmgirl. As you can see by these photos I haven't ironed them lately. They've been stored in a small suitcase.

These are older everyday hankies but because they are thinner i dont use them.
The Long one on the left was one I kept from my father. His "good" hankies he wore with his suits.
These are crocheted by my maternal grandmother. She was a talented woman when it came to sewing or any kind of craft. She also tatted them but I only managed to acquire 2 of the ones she did.

Back in the day, hankies had really beautiful embroidery as well as lacy edges. They were something anyone could be proud of to have in their purse.
