Who remembers, Tang, , "Food Stix" Whip-n-Chill and Instant Breakfast drinks??
Wowzers the 1960-70's was quit interesting, food wise!

Just for fun, here is a 'Friendship" tea mix using Tang..
1 1/2c Tang
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c inst tea mix
1tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp cloves

We drank it hot, tho' I guess it could be drank as a cold beverage a swell.

I made the tea, but we called it Russian Tea. Don't know why but that's what we called it in my part of Texas.

A little bit of tang trivia. It was created for the space program.

Sara we called it Russian Tea as well. I loved it but did not know you could still buy Tang.

I remember Russian tea; we drank gallons of it. Now I look at all the sugar in it and shudder.

I remember!

I also remember when I was young and we took a family trip to Canada BC, rented this two story beautiful log cabin on Clear Lake? Can't remmeber the name, anyway, they didn't give us a key to the front door, instead, they gave us mouse traps. One evening it rained and the roof leaked like there was no tomorrow, we had every single pot, pan, dish, cup up stairs to catch the water. AND, speaking of water, we also were to drink the lakes water, it was so clear and clean... however... I spotted some little white floatie creatures in the water one day... and I refused to drink it. So for the remainder of our trip, my mother dyed the water with good ole tang!! LOL!!

I remember Space Food Sticks, but looking back they were about as healthy for us as poptarts.

I remember the Friendship Tea. I was at work and one of the ladies brought a jug of it iced. I thought it was quite good but rather sweet. When I was in girl scouts we would go to a camp in southern IL that had the worst water in IL. It was very sulphuric and stunk like rotten eggs. The scout leaders did their best trying to disguise the horrible taste & smell with Tang, but it didn't work!

Oh yes!! I always loved this old recipe. My favorite way to enjoy it was hot.
