Hubby and I went over to Couer d’ Alene over cross State Line .. from our house in Spokane WA to CdA Idaho is about a 45 min drive… had lunch at the ‘Bouy’ on the lake, was yummy and then on the way home we stopped off at a Thrift I had been wanting to check out.

Oh My Stars!! Look what I scored,,,
These quilts are hand stitched, all Vtg fabric possibly flour sacks…
I just want to sit and hug all the fabric.
I will try to post some photos but not all in one post.

Double wedding ring and grandmothers flower garden? My grandma made a flower garden one as a young girl. My mom has it but it is falling apart. My grandma and her sisters had to sit at the table and wait for everyone to be done with dinner. So they would sit and sew their pieces together. If only the quilts could talk.

Another awesome Katmom score. You need to channel Amish -- clean out your barn, set up a bunch of quilting frames, and have a good old fashioned quilting bee. I'll definitely come.

Jean, funny thing,, when we lived up here, 2007-2013, we had a house just around the corner, and the basement family room was so huge, that I used half as a sewing studio.. I had 4 sewing machines, 1 serger and 1 embroidery machine set up, along with an ironing station. I love'd having sewing sessions with friends.
Which this house were a bit bigger so I could have a huge sewing studio like at the other house.

Debbie K., it was the Cd'A Youth Ranch Thrift on 6thh st.

Both quilts are hand stitched...... sorry about the posting not posting well... I was using my cell phone...

Nancy jo,, for now I am going to gently let them soak in lavender water to get the musty odor out,, then lay them out on the lawn to dry... then pack them in tissue with a lavender sachets and put with the other quilt tops,, until I can figure out what/how to finish it and the others..
I need some of you quilters to move up here and help me finish them,, heeheehee! I'll provide the Tea and Scones!

Well Katmom, that sounds enticingly provocative. What exactly do you have in mind ??? Inquiring minds want to know.

This is a fabric resource for dating fabrics.
Based on description and photos, these fabrics could be as old as the early 1920’s..
That being said, a lot of the fabrics could very well be flour/sugar/sacks.. based on the fabric texture.

Those are so neat! I love the looks and design of the fabric. I wish I could sew because I would come help you. I love how you use lavender for so much. I can always smell lavender in your packages and it's wonderful! Great finds again.
