Hello everyone! I am a newbie from Lexington, KY. Originally I am from Michigan. My husband and I moved here last April. This is also the first time I have ever been on a chat room. So I can use all the help I can get. I grew up on a farm in Michigan. My husband and I look forward to buying our first farm together. Anyone else from Kentucky? Would love to here from you. Ann

Hi Ann, welcome to Kentucky and the forum. I live in the southern part of the state, right on the Tennessee border but you have certainly picked a beautiful part of the state to live in. Join right in, you are going to feel right at home here. Kathy

Welcome, Ann. I live in Louisville, but my dh and I have a 23 acres farm in Irvington, KY(about 30 min from Fort Knox). You live in a beautiful area, where the horse farms are. I think you're going to love this forum! :)

Hello & Welcome, Ann! So glad you found the Farmgirls. You will find an amazing amount of information, support & real-life wisdom here. I spent my first 22 years in North Eastern Ky; and am actually returning to Ky this summer! There is much to love and cherish about Ky; & it is certainly a great place to find your dream farm. Hopefully, we can compare notes as we do our respective searches for our little (well, @ least little in my case ) piece of Heaven. Looking forward to hearing more from you, Melanie

Hi Ann,
I am in Michigan...Bay City. I would rather be in Kentucky, but I think we are stuck here. Just curious as to what part of Michigan you were from? Do you like it much better then Michigan...weather wise? I'm going crazy with all of the mud here. The horses have it so torn up but I hate making them stay in until it dries...who knows when that will be. Welcome!!! Jamie |

I was raised in a small town called Tecumseh, southeast of Ann Arbor. The weather is generally better here, but the past week has been awful cold. However, the best thing is all of the horses and the sun shines almost all of the time, unlike dreary old Michigan. My husband and I love it here. Nice to talk to someone from back home though. Thanks for the welcome, Jamie.quote: Originally posted by 2 Red Barns

I thought that there was a farmgirl chapter in Nicholasville, but I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone there. Do you know anything about it? I really want to meet some other farmgirls in the area. Thanks for the welcome, Lisa.quote: Originally posted by glorybee

Howdy, Ann! I'm in Northern Kentucky (Florence, Erlanger, Covington area) just south of Cincinnati, Ohio. I went to boarding school in Michigan near Traverse City at Interlochen Arts Academy. What part of the mitten to you hail from? Anyhoo, welcome and enjoy browsing around! These gals are super for all kinds of information, and simply chatting.
Have a great week! Jonni
