Yesterday was just a day for me. So I decieded to go to the Yard sales in our paper. Since there was only one I thought it best to start there. :) It was great! The folks having the sale used to have a booth at an antiques market in Atlanta. They were trying to get rid of stuff. Needless to say I could have spent a fortune. Well after drooling over lots and lots of possibilities my good sense kicked in and I picked the best for the least. For 15.00 I got a child's dolly bed (this is for my best friend who has been looking for one for her granddaughter), cast iron cornbed pan( the one that looks like corn cobs), a glass Planters peanuts jar, a gallon glass vinger jug(for my change) and 4 drawers from a desk. These I think I will put casters on and paint. I can use them for storage in the sewing room or put flower pots in them outside. Also I got a small suit case about 10x14 inches. One of the old wooden ones covered in paper inside and out. I think I'll "slipcover" it in fabric. When I was little I had some of these to keep my doll clothes in. I'd love to share pics but since I'm technilogically impaired I can't figure out how to post them. Wish you guys could have come. We could have bought everything from these folks.

Good for you Teddie, like the idea with the drawers. Yard sales haven't started here yet, so lucky you. Get someone to help you set up so you can show pictures.

Hi Teddie-

To post pictures just upload them to www.photobucket.com . Once they are uploaded there are several boxes below the picture with formatted text in them. Just copy the one that starts with “[img” and paste that into the post text box here on the forum.

HTML formatting for pictures looks like this “img src=www.picturelocationgoeshere.com

I hope that helps.

Thanks Alee, ,but paste? copy? and upload??? I don't know how to do these things. My sons have showed me how to copy in the past, but since I don't use this I forget. Being here on the forum, surfing and emailing are about it for me @ this time. I am going to try to learn the camera better though. It's just easier for DH to do the pics. He enjoys being the photographer.

Thanks again teddie

Hi Teddie!

Uploading pictures on Photobucket is pretty easy. Think of it as saving them to the Photobucket computer. Here is a link to a post by Gabe with very detailed instructions.

http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6291

To copy something you just highlight the text with the mouse cursor, then you can either right click with your mouse or go to the top of the page, click "edit" and select "copy". To paste you go to where you want what you copied to appear and either right click and select "paste" or go to the top of the screen and select "edit" then "paste".

If you really want to post pictures and know how to email them- you could email them to me and I would be happy to post them on your behalf.

Teddie!! Why was I not in Carrollton this week?! ha ha. You lucky duck- you certainly got good deals!! Cilla and I went to Scott's Antique Market today. Can you just say "Way over-priced!" Except for outside in the tents where my mom and her friend were. Since the storms were coming, they made the dealers pack up and clear out early. Everyone was trying to pack and get rid of stuff- So, I got 3 nice, old rolling pins for $20. Not bad. And a cool set of hinged wood-framed screens that I have no idea what I am going to do with. DH was not amused. ;) Have fun with your treasures!!

Hey Karin,
I seriously considered calling you to see if you wanted to come to that yard sale. I have a feeling they might do this everyweekend. They looked as though the were set up permanantly till all was gone. The lady said she used to have a booth @ Lakeshore(?) but they closed. I'll keep an eye open to see if they run the add next week.
We were in Atlanta today for the Home show and the weather was awful when we got out. ( It's pouring here now) Hope you guys didn't get drowned! The rolling pins were a good deal. I like the hinged screen idea. I have a single bed that has no frame. I was thinking turning it agaist the wall like a daybed and using an old screen for the back. What do you think? I loved your screen door pantry and have been looking for a way to encorporate your idea into my decor. Tried to get DH to put a screen door on my sewing room, but he was not amused.
Some times these guys are party-poopers huh?

Later, TEDDIE

Call me next time you see their ad! I'll come runnin'! They probably had a booth at Lakewood, which closed last year. :( I used to love going there. I like your idea for a daybed. That would be adorable. As far as your sewing room- measure the door, go to Home Depot and pick one out and put it in yourself! They are easy-peasy! You wouldn't have to worry about "thread webs" made by your cat anymore!!

PS- We survived the rain. :)

Janice,

The weather was bad here Sat. and today. Cold ,40's and WINDY!!! However last Fri. it was sunny and 70's. Just a great day all the way around. Surely sping is in store soon for all of us!

Karin, That was the reason I wanted the screen door on the sewing room. Lets the air circulate, but keeps out cats. Or should I say CAT! Next time we talk you'll have to explain what I need to do.

Sleep well ladies, I'm off to bed. It's 9:30 here. Gotta get up @ 0530.
