Grace, please post these on the new swap thread so people can get some more ideas.

Don't you just love all these minis? I love the lace one, too - so easy and so cute! Many from previous swaps are very colorful and/or theme related, they have various layers, lots of different trims, many different styles, and sizes vary. That's what makes them so much fun. When you open the envelope when it arrives you can sit for quite a while loving all the aprons.

If you have a grandchild with a Barbie doll, or if you have one yourself, Barbie would be a great model for many of these aprons.

Do those of you signed up have your creative thinking caps on? I have finished 9 aprons so far and have another 4 half done. I'm working on these quickly because I leave on a cruise this weekend and want to get ahead. I'm hoping we get at least a dozen swappers, but however many we get this will be FUN!

As we have said, you can make yours all alike, all different, or a mixture. So far, mine are all the same fabric, all have a pocket (though not all the pockets are the same), and all have similar but slightly different trim.

We have 7 swappers so far - I hope more sign up.

Farmgirl hugs,
Linda

Thanks Grace. The pattern that I have been attempting is a full apron. I’m not enjoying making it with cotton so I’ll try and see how it works with acrylic. I hope it works just as good.

Krista, here is a simple idea,,,

I crochet 18 ch, 2 rows, then I single crochet 2 rows of sc.. then 10 rows of sc but on ea row I started ea row in the 2nd hole... Then I crochet 2 rows of 7 SC, (for the waistband).

Then you can come back and do some fancy crochet on the hem and crochet on a waistband with white yarn and maybe maybe a cute little mini flower in blue or just sew on a piece of ribbon for the waistband.
I used Red Heart yarn but I think cotton would work well too.

Grace, that is very simple! Red has always been a difficult color to photograph. So I ended up making 2 of the full aprons. One for my mom and one for my mother in law for Mother's day. They are both with cotton. I still haven't tried one yet with the acrylic. I plan to today. I'm just not sure it will give the same shape but maybe...
Here are the 2 I made. I attached them to soap bottles!

Sorry the pictures aren't the best. I forgot to take a picture before we left so I had to take one in the car.

This is my prototype crochet mini apron... But I still have not made a pocket for it yet...

The acrylic yarn was stretchy, maybe I will play around with cotton yarn...

These crocheted mini aprons are adorable!! They turned out so bright and fun too. The thing about these little aprons is that they are easy enough to make for any occasions and there are no real rules.

I made 9 mini's,,,(sewen),, then I decided to make something different... sew now my sewing room is over flowing in mini aprons! lol!
oh and yes, my new rescue kitty likes "fishing" in the basket that I have them stored in.. she uses her claw/paw, pulls one out.. looks at it then shakes it off.. then repets!

Krista, luv those wee tiny hearts!
