and Encourage a Young Writer!

It's "Go for Broke" week according to our trusty MaryJanesFarm Calendar, and today, Tuesday, is "Encourage a Young Writer Day."

So -- this week I am going for broke as far as putting my shoulder to the wheel and catching up on all of the paperwork that has been dragging me down - I just look at that darn pile and my heart sinks about a foot. So... that's what I'll be doing! Not exciting, but BOY, what a relief it'll be when it's done - and how free I'll feel!

What are you "Going for Broke" toward this week?

And...to encourage all of those young writing farmgirls out there (and the not so young, too!), I offer this quote by the incomparable Brenda Ueland:

"Everybody is talented, original and has something important to say."

I really believe that one. Let it boost your confidence and send you on your way!

XOXO, Libbie

Cleaning my sewing room and organizing my master bedroom. If only you could see it..it's really a task!

Get some papers filed out to send into the National Archives to learn more about my ancestors military service. This is one more step in my quest to become D.A.R. (This is now done and ready to send. Those papers have been waiting for me to get it together for about three weeks. (But I was gone to California for ten of those days). Now it is off to my studio to get some things put together for the Past Blessings Show. Oh how I LOVE TO CREATE!
If hubby gets the books shelves finished for the office today we can work on getting it put together...maybe tonight. A big 'if' since his day has not gone as he planned. But then life has a way of doing that to us. So we'll roll with the punches.
I am a tad off today, as my father passed away yesterday. He has been sick with cancer for a long time...so it was a relief. So he is on my heart today. He was 73.

My going for broke event happened yesterday at Lowe's. I was plant shopping with a friend and we bought an entire rack of bedding plants- 4 shelves full - for.........................$15 It was a "cold snap" sale and we had to take advantage of it. Sooo, we will be planting 16 flats of flowers in each of our yards this weekend! Neither of us ever have the money to really get the plants we want to fill in our gardens, so this was like a little present sitting in the back lot at Lowe's.
The other thing I am doing is organizing my craft room and getting a story board set up on the back wall to lay out purses. One more step towards that ETSY shop.

Maybe finally having my powder room bathroom worked on. It definitely needs a new sink, maybe some paint or wallpapering? In this case, I really may be going for BROKE!

Oh Pamela I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My going for broke is getting my basement fixed for once and for all. I'm at the library right now while 4 men are jack hammering out my basement floor and installing a new waterproofing system. (literally broke...$5000.00)!
