Pretty, pretty view of your farm getting all dressed up for Winter! Love that purple Peep for a cup of hot chocolate too! What a cute idea and it won't be long before all the spring peeps will be here again. I love Peeps!! Enjoy your first big snow of the year.

Congratulations Heather! I'm a winter fan too and we've been getting some beautiful snows this month here in the Chicago area. I'm happy and hoping it doesn't turn into ice on us over the next few days of predicted frigid temps.

Thank Ladies! We didn't get much more today but it's supposed to be cold for a while so at least what we have should stay :)

Winnie - my father in law surprised me the other day with a little 5 pack of the peeps. Said when they were in town my mother in law spotted them and that I'd love them - she was right! They also make wonderful smores. Just be careful - the sugar on the outside makes them hotter than a toasted marshmallow. My friend was loosing hers off the roasting stick and grabbed it before it fell off and had blisters on her palm and fingers!

Heather, I am not a peep fan at all, but my mom loves them. She actually freezes them and eats them that way. Maybe try that and see if you like them that way.

Oh I love peeps but I am a weirdo and prefer them stale. I like the chewiness (is that a word??)of them that way. Whenever my kids get them for me they slit the pack so they have a head start on being stale when I get them. Lol. I was starting to think I was alone in enjoying peeps. Will have to try the peeps in hot cocoa for the grandchildren.

Will have to try the frozen peeps. Maybe I would like those better than stale. Lol.

Krista - I have never had them frozen before. Usually I freeze things for long term storage and Peeps never make it for long term storage. Mine never even get a chance to go stale LOL! I will have to try it next time I get some.

Grace - Yes, I fave a friend who has much better self control than I do and she saved some from Easter until fall one year and we had a bonfire with peep smores. They were delicious! I've also found that if there are no peeps available reeces peanut butter cups go very well with regular marshmallows :)

Denise - I never have them long enough for them to go stale. I don't know if I'd like it or not. I'm not sure I could leave them open long enough to try one LOL!

All the snow has melted and it's currently raining. It's supposed to change over to sleet/ice before turning to all snow tonight. Depending on which forecast you look at we could get up to 14 inches of snow by Friday!!! I'm not excited about the ice, but I'm SUPER excited for the snow!!!! Unfortunately I'm out of peeps for this celebration. If we don't loose power I'll be making cookies instead. They go great with hot cocoa :)

We were very lucky. Only a tiny bit of sleet yesterday evening as the rain switched to snow. It's hard to tell how much snow is out there now because it's blowing around so much. I was going to make snickerdoodles to celebrate, but my mother in law beat me to the baking (I had a dentist apt) so it was chocolate chipper champs instead. There's plenty left if you want one:

Here's some of the snow:

See the steps on the bin? The higher you go the more snow there is on each step.

The steps have disappeared. It looks like there's a few inches on the milk cans but I don't know if it blew there or that's how much snow fell.

Can't see the neighbors - they're about 1/4 mile down the road.

It's supposed to stay cold so if it doesn't all blow away it should stick around a while. I believe it's supposed to keep snowing through the night :)

I am a peep fan as well. They actually have a Peep store at The Mail of America with lots of different flavored ones. I was in heaven. Glad you got at least a little snow Heather.

A Peep store! Oh my. I'd have to open all my packages before I got home so they'd start going stale! LOL

Sour watermelon and peppermint were both good the peppermint would be perfect for hot chocolate.

I didn't find the store online. Guess I'll just have to visit the mall of america one day and hope it's still there.

Krista - I have 1 peep (not one pack, just one chick) in the freezer. That way if I don't like it I didn't ruin the whole pack LOL! I'll try it tomorrow and see how it is.
