Does anybody have any? When i was a kid we always put salt in the sugar bowl and my children continued the tradition and their father always fell for it. Share with me. MB

I always try to convince my husband there is a HUGE spider near him. He never fall for it.

I am just glad it is not a school day this year. I teach and it gets real old real quick!

Richard is just to easy, I can fool him everyday, so its fools day around here on any given day. The big kids usually get me with something, but over the years I have learned to be very careful what I believe on April first.

I stopped pulling April Fool's Day pranks when I was in the 5th grade. I did the salt in the sugar bowl trick. (Oh, I thought I was soooo clever!) Well, my mom made my little sister her oatmeal for breakfast and of course, it was ruined by a generous sprinkling of salt. :( My mother was so mad at me because it was the last of the oatmeal and my sister was crying and would not eat anything else she was offered and BOY OH BOY did I get in trouble!!!
Now, I only wish my mother a very Happy Birthday and leave it at that! ;)

I love the rubber band around the sink sprayer trick!!!
We used to save some Pop-Its from 4th of July and put them in the hinges of the kitchen cupboards, then leave the doors ajar...you know moms can't NOT shut them... it'd get her every time and we all found it so funny! (the other great spot for those is under the toilet seat...ROFL) No wonder my mom's hair is grey... ; }

This year, I sent my oldest a poem from the tooth fairy (he just lost a baby molar) that said the tooth fairy is broke...
And I left another one for him to find later that said April Fool's! He loved it!

Gotta go find a rubber band...I wonder if hubby will find it as funny as I do?

I am so glad my kids at home don't read this forum Faith..things would be popping all over!! haha
My older sons used to get me every year..especially when they were teens...one of them would come running in from outside first thing in the morning while I was making breakfast in my bathrobe or whatever yelling that the goats are out or the sheep or whatever (the chickens wouldn't have got me running) and I would run and throw my overalls on over my nightgown, grab some boots and trip and run out the back door and run across the yard to find everyone (critters I mean) right where they should be...jeesh!! I would go trudging back in the house and they would be literally rolling on the floor laughing..of course I was out of breath and looked ridiculous. I fell for it every single time. Sometimes they didn't wait for April first either.

Noow I know what to do with my left over popits lol

Did you see the guy who tried to capture making a video of the rubber band trick on his wife that backfired on him? I vowed then to never do that one.
He has the video all set up and you see him put the rubber band on the sprayer. He pulls the water handle to test that it works and water shoots out past him. He giggles and turns to come back to check his camera... and as he turns his foot slips on the now wet kitchen floor and he falls. In the fall his chuckling open mouth slams the kitchen counter and he breaks off his front teeth.

My boys would put the bubble wrap under the little rugs by the bed where your feet first hit the floor from the bed. Could get me or my hubby every year too.

We have a rubber roach. She seems to pop up all over the house... doesn't have to be april fools day... to have your heart race here.

Well, yesterday I was out with a friend when she got a call from her ex, who had the kids for the weekend. He told her he had spilled some cooking oil on the floor and their daughter slipped on it and fell, possibly breaking her nose. I'm just hearing her end of the conversation on this one; tears in her eyes, panic in her voice...Then her daughter gets on the phone and gives her the "April Fool's" line. I have never seen such a mix of panic and relef in one person! She did later explain to her daughter that you don't do things like that to a MOM (especially when mom is hours and miles away)!!! The ex will never get it...guess that's why he's the ex.
I do like the bubble wrap under the rug idea.
We also have a very realistic looking piece of fake doggie doo. That has brought many jokes upon us all.

Life is messy. Wear your apron!
