Terri, I believe in seasons in our lives. Just as people come into our lives for a season a website can too. Seasons come and go, so does our need to be on the Farm. I found the Farm in Aug of 2014 and have been here ever since. My time spent here varies with my need to post. I see a time when I may not need or want to be active but again I might.

Terri, I've been here since Jan 2007 and have seen many come and go. I think as Sara said it has to do with seasons of life. Also, with the introduction of Facebook to the public instead of just college attendees many have spent their time there and haven't visited here as much or at all. I can remember when there was always something happening here with all the different girls hostessing swaps. Swaps have started to become routine instead of just when someone came up with something special. Swapping often isn't a bad thing and it keeps people involved. And it also helps to get to know those who do them often with one another. A nice way to get to know each on a more personal level as well as the penpals list. I know what you mean. It is different and has changed.

Hi Terri!
I agree with Sara and Denise... It's a life season thing.
Sadly - heartbreakingly - a few farmgirl sisters have passed; but I trust we will see them again one day in Heaven! And, oh, what a celebration that will be!!
Then there are other farmgirls who are dealing with all sorts of health issues, or family changes; all sorts of life changes and challenges. But I believe their hearts are still with us. Life just sometimes has a way of taking over. There was a time I was able to visit every day, but when my husband started having serious health issues, my life focus completely changed, and I just dont have time to visit much right now. I am SO grateful, however, that many sisters reach out to encourage me, to remind me just how loved I am, and to let me know that they are still praying for me and my family. Their messages always seem to arrive at just the perfect time, when I need them most. And they are extemely understanding and forgiving when I cannot always respond - which is more often than not. I hate it. It's just very hard right now. Time to simply wind down - let alone sleep - is a precious commodity! God bless our sisters, each and every one.
One really great thing is that when I am able to take time to come back for a visit, it's as if time has stood still, like I've never been away. We just pick up where we left off. To me, that's a sign of true friendship. SUCH a gift! Our farmgirl sisters, although I will probably meet very few face-to-face in my lifetime, if any at all, are some of the dearest friends I have, inside and outside of the chatroom! MaryJane called this a sisterhood with good reason, for sure! ;)
I am sure we all go through these seasons which pull us away for a time. Im just so glad to see YOU'RE back! Hopefully, in time, more of our sisters will be able to stop by and visit, and we can celebrate the time we do have together with them, too!
Hugs,
Nini

I remember all of you.... I am truly sorry for the loss in each of your lives, whatever that may be... I know how loss is, as, my sweet hubby passed on 8 years ago, this july.....its almost like time has stood still in some ways....in others its raced ahead..... As our Farmsisters pass...that is painful also..... May we keep on keepin' on..... and remember who it is that gave us life in the first place.... Thank you all for your kindness...theres not enough kindness left in this old world....

Hay there. All true. I, for one, have had several events that have caused me to be absent for MJF. But, I always come back and am always welcomed back by great sisters. I am working on being more present here. Life is still a tailspin hurricane but I'm in need of this connection. Hugs.

Terri, I have been here since 2010 and there seem to be waves of newcomers and then they are gone. Some stay, like myself, and others move on and/or life just takes them in different directions. Sometimes people return when they have time as well. There are no hard and fast rules to this online community and what keeps me here are the friends that I have made and the fun and helpful ideas that abound on so many subjects. Terri, I am glad YOU are here and I hope you will continue to stay involved as your time allows and share with us your ideas and interests!!

Hello, I joined the sisterhood about 8 years ago while I was still working full time. I loved reading through the different forums and topics, and always wanted to join the swaps. It looked like you ladies were always having so much fun! I was reluctant to join in because I was afraid I would forget or let someone down. Now that I'm retired, I'm trying to ease into the stream of activity by joining two separate swaps so far. I sincerely hope there is a renewed interest soon.
A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.
