Being fairly new to MJF Connection, I have no "history" here. Does anyone usually do a Christmas Stocking swap? It would probably be similar to the fun fun Wine Bottle Dress swap. If not, I will get my feet wet and attempt to host one. Farmgirls -- please advise me.

Hi Jean, this sounds fun! I've never made a Christmas stocking before, no time like the present! (ha ha, a little unintended pun there...) Count me in!

Every year there is a Christmas Stocking Swap. I have hosted one and do not have time to do it this year. Search the articles on Mary Jane to see how these swaps have been administered.

Usually Peggy aka LadyinRed hosts an annual Christmas stocking swap. Not this early in the year though. I'm sure it would be fine to host and have another later on.

Thank you so much Farmgirls for the feedback. Looks like I jumped the gun a bit and there is some tradition behind this one. So, I'll be a good Newbie and wait for the traditional hosts to announce. I really appreciated the links you sent Marie and read them all in their entirety so I feel up to speed now. The Secret Santa swap sounds like a blast and I will really look forward to that one. I took an online class today that included a Christmas Stocking which is what made me think about this. So, I'll get started on my stocking and wait for the swap announcement. Thanks everyone.

I would love to participate in this swap too, but can you give some dimensions we should all aim for.

Jill, Ida Jane and Jana . . . . see the above replies to this topic. In deference to our long standing farmgirls who have spearheaded Christmas Stocking swaps for several years now, let's wait and see what this year's host (not me) has in store for us. If you look at the links in Marie's post, you will see that historically, it's a very fun swap. Clearly, us new chicks (me) have a lot to learn here at MJF . . .

Jean,
Lately, there have been a ton of swaps that are fairly new to MJF. There is no set rule as to who can host a swap. Everyone seems to be enjoying all of the swaps though. For me there are so many it is hard to keep up.

What would be required for a Christmas Stocking swap? I’ve never done this before but it sounds like it would be fun. So....count me in and let me know. Marge Farmgirl#7915
