Our Farmgirl Apple Festival, that begins on the 1st of September, is coming soon and that means it is time for our annual Apple Swap! Sign ups will be from August 21 to September 1. Partners will be chosen and posted on September 2. If you love apples, this swap is a fun way to share with others some good old fashioned apple fun. The only requirement is to include one of your favorite apple recipes. You can then include whatever else you wish. Please be mindful and keep your swap small as postage has gone way up when you ship heavy or large boxes. We just want to have fun and share apple goodness with our partner.

Here are the partners for our Annual Apple Swap. WE have an odd number so we will do the assignments Round Robin Style. For those who are new to this concept , here is how it works. You see the list below of names of people who signed up. The first on the list sends her swap to the second on the list, the second sends to the third all the way down to the last name who sends their swap to the first name at the beginning of the list. This way everyone has a partner and receives a swap. If you have any questions at all , please send me an email and I can help you. Just remember the person requesting your address is the only person you need to send it too. You will be asking for the mailing address of the person below your name.

Welcome Debbie, Kelly, Julie and Denise! Yes, it is almost time again to dive into apple goodness as we all welcome the arrival of Fall!! Our grocery store had a rare occasion to offer Ginger Gold apples which are the late Summer variety on the Eastern coast to ripen. They are available now in north Georgia and North Carolina. Ummm, I might have baked an apple pie last night as a “test run”for Apple Pie Sunday!! LOL!! Results??? Delicious EXCEPT my crust turned out tough!! You can bet I researched up pie crust techniques this morning to figure out what happened. Guess I might have to do another “test run” to make sure I am ready for the Apple Pie Sunday celebration!! LOL!! Oh, what a shame that would be to eat more apple pie!

Joyce, the partners are posted on September 2 but mail out will be the middle of the month . While I am asking for just a recipe, most people will add a few extras. I have email you with a solutions we can do so that you can participate. Email me back with your thoughts.

Need help Winnie and others identifying this Apple tree in our yard. The apples are really little, green and red. Is this a crap apple tree? I hope the pictures are good enough.[
