I had to ask Joann's to let me know when they have tailor's hams back in stock. They have no tailor's hams here in Minnesota.

Our Wal-Mart still has no sewing machines on the shelf. They do have cases!
My son is a building contractor. So he is frequently in the appliance store, helping people choose their new appliances for their new home.
Monday he and Had went there to buy a freezer. The young man said he was sorry but they had none. On top of that there was a waiting list of at least 200 others in front of them.

Now that is crazy.

We went to a local appliance shop just to look, and it was the same way - hardly anything left in the store. The manager said they are having trouble getting them.

We ordered the new microwave/oven combo unit through American Home Shield today and even though none of the stores around here have them - they are all backordered - AHS said it would be delivered and installed on July 30. We will see if that is true. I expected it to be longer than that.

Marilyn - I just saw freezers for sale - I think it was chest type freezers at Home Depot.

Marie - what is a tailor's ham? Is that the stuffed thing to use for sewing curves?

Yes, it is a tool used for ironing curves. I use it for my masks. The store has just informed me that it is in the store and I ordered it.

I stopped at our local fabric store yesterday, it was 11:30. I found on the sign on the door that it was open from 12:00- 4:00. That was enough time to go get a snack and come back. When I returned it was 12:36, time to get organized and open for the door. I walked up to the door and pulled. Locked. So, I reread the sign, more carefully this time. She is indeed open from 12:00-4:00. What I failed to notice is the days, that is for Tues-Friday. The hours are 10:00-2:00 on Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday. I have to go to P.T. again Thursday. I will stop in again then ladies. Trust me her fabrics are worth the wait.. I am so looking forward to browsing the shelves again for us.

I am going to assemble this months squares into the background for my bulletin board at school. (yes, I am being optimistic that we will be returning on the regular scheduled date.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

The fabric store here in town is only open from 10-2 5 days a week. They said business is not good enough to stay open longer. It is unfortunate that smaller stores and certain types of stores cannot stay in business the hours they did before the pandemic. So sad.

Terri, we have a quilting shop 40 minutes away with the same hours right now but how I live her materials!! She has the cutest chickens ever!! Sara and I are heading uo there today and then maybe lunch outside somewhere even tho its been 100 plus last few days. I just have to have those chickens! :)
School is still on as far as I know here. The school boards have all requested financial aid for extra nurses in each school to help guard and test for covid so we shall see what Gov. Ivy does. If not then the school boards will decide if opening is worth it or not. Al. Has so many hot spots. Our county is one of them.

Linda does your fabric store have an on line presence? Can we go on line to see and order fabrics?
Our local shop should have gone under several years ago soon after the new lady bought it. She learned quickly that she could not manage it while working and living in big D.
So she came home. She h
began going to quilt shows...and vastly improved her web site. So I've ordered from her a couple of times. I just stop and get my order as we go into town. No postage.
Missouri Star Quilts is my favorite on line quilt shop.
I order something fro them almost every month.
Keepsake Quilting used to be my favorite. I just got an email from them. The fabrics ordered in March that were supposed to arrive in July... Now it will be Sept.im thinking of asking them to switch to a different fabric...that is in stock.
