Well, Good Morning My Porchies...
So, Happy to see a few more Sister Chicks on here...WELCOME ONE AND ALL!! Please come back and sit a spell!!
D-that looks really nice!! You did an outstanding job!! Who cares if you are a little slower than you personally like...it's the end result that matters and it's spectacular!!
Denise...I'm so glad that you had a good Mother's Day too!! You are a very Sweet Lady and I'm glad that all your kids honored you that day. I missed hearing from my middle son but if he was going to continue being Nasty it was just as well. I love him though just because He is mine and that will never change! And you are so right I had a fantastic Mother's Day. The grandkids didn't want me to leave but they were tired from a full day of fun and so was Grandma!! But I am still smiling about it and my heart is very full indeed!!
It is raining here all week with occasional sun breaks.
The young woman above us had another water leak, which makes her problem my problem too! So, they are coming any minute to cut the kitchen ceiling and the back wall behind my sink...so they can run their big fans and dry it out. Because of my husband's poor health, they have to first build a containment wall...so Larry doesn't breathe in too much of the dust. This is like the 4th time they have had to be in my Apartment fixing stuff. They are a group of nice Christian Guys who I really enjoy...but I don't care to see them so often!! LOL They are beginning to feel like family!!
Becky...Chickens huh??? I haven't been able to eat an egg for about 2 months. I was going to make omelets or scrambled eggs one night for dinner but after I broke open the third egg...there was a full-size chick in there and it even had feathers but it was grossly green and smelly. I was just about ready to throw up. it was bad. In my 68 years, I have never seen that before and pray I never do again!! I said nothing to my husband and fixed his scrambled eggs and then couldn't watch him eat them. Yuck!! I'm still so grossed out!!! It will be a long time before I can even think about making eggs of any kind.
Well, Ladies I'm tired have a Wonderful Day!!
Love, Hugs and joy, Peggy

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have to give credit to Mom as she selected everything - I'm just the labor for installation!
Peggy- Ugh - Not a cool surprise! Was this from a grocery store??? Now I'm worried about something new ;0

Oh Peg, that's just gross. How did THAT even make it past the hatchery crew? I use to work in a hatchery and there's no way that would have even left there. Only peeps leave there and go to the grow-out barns. Somebody must have had a vendetta against that company and put that egg in the egg carton at the store. Unbelievable!! I've gotten outdated rotten eggs before, but never anything like that. Wow! Becky, we are having crazy cold weather too. I couldn't get warm yesterday, no matter what hot beverage I drank. We actually had snow flurries yesterday. We had some last Thursday n Friday too. I think we are going to go from Spring to Summer real fast. We shall see. I like the cold so it's no biggie for me, but I do worry about our farmers and their crops.

Now I'm grossed out reading that Peggy. Ugh! The worst I found in fresh eggs was the red dot of blood that lets you know they are fertile.
D- Good job on that cell! *clapping* Now you can truly enjoy it!
Also having a hard time warming up even though I drank coffee and tea.
So last 3 days are high of 60. Next 3 days are 80 for highs. WOW! I'm like Judy thinking it's going from Spring to Summer real quick!

D, GREAT job on those prison cells. So glad you've been set free at last. Hahaha Becky, I just noticed that you have your address under your name. Does that mean you want us all to come see you(figured I'd better ask before I just show up). Hahaha

Hi all, Just thought I would say hello. I am sad today I packed up my classroom for summer. I had not been there since March. My principal resigned today so I am not sure what will happen at our school. I am keeping my eyes open for other places but most in my area are filled at the level I teach. So I will stay at least another year as I need a job. I know God has a plan but so hard and not being able say goodbye to my butterflies was sad to my heart.
But on a good note my stepdaughter got engaged so we will be adding to the family.
The state is beginning work on expanding road and pressuring us to make a decision about their offer. So far we are at a crossroads.
I tell you when it rains it pours. But this season shall pass. Meanwhile tea and books have been my friends. Have a great evening Love and hugs Tammy

Congrats on the family addition - that's great news! You will continue to be in my prayers. The path is there, it just takes time and a willingness to look for it. Keep the faith!

Good Morning My Porchies...
Well, I feel left out...I don't have a sewing room to go work in today! LOL And I am still doing nothing. Besides putting all my kitchen stuff on my dining room table the night before last...I still don't feel like working. But I am eating out of boredom and it is too rainy to go for a walk. I am going to be 5 ft 2 X 5 ft 2 and weigh 250 lbs by the time this quarantine is over!! Seriously I want to do something fun not work!!!!!!
The Apart. Manager and the Insurance Inspector and the Construction Contractor just left a bit ago. I don't think I will see anybody else today. Maybe I will actually get a nap. I'm still just sleeping 4 or 5 hours a night since we"ve been quarantined. Most of it is due to my Fibro and the rain. Extreme Fatigue.
My grandson called me last night and asked me questions about Mt. St. Helens when it blew up. I told him to close his eyes and pretend he just stepped outside his house and the whole World looked just grey. The Grass looked gray, the streets were gray, the flowers were all grey and even people looked pretty gray and bland. He didn't think he would like that very much! I forgot that my youngest son and his wife weren't even born when this happened so they were listening too and found it all new and interesting. I probably gave Elijah way too much information for a 7 year old. But he can pick and choose what he found most interesting to write about for his school assignment.
Have a good day no matter what you plan to do.
Big Hugs and Loves, Peggy

Peggy, boy am I glad I raise my own girls for eggs. That is unreal. I can remember when my mom used to candle eggs from our chickens. (I grew up on a chicken farm) They were graded as well. I think I would be with you on that though. I definitely would have reported to the company and grocer as well.
I got out in the beautiful weather yesterday and with help from my grandson we got some yard work done. Looks so much better now. There is still more to do, isn't there always. I was aching so bad I could hardly walk last night. Better this morning after my shower and some topical pain relief. I was surprised to see last night that I was sunburned on my neck and one arm. I was wearing short sleenves and gloves but the part in between is red. I didn't even think about sunscreen. It was just so good to see the sun. I did have my hat on so my face did not get anything. I've been putting lotion on the burn to keep my skin from drying more than it is already.
Working on some small hand projects today.

I sat in the sun and ate some home charbroiled food! Nothing tastes so good as meat done on charcoal. YUM 1st cookout from my dear
neighbors. We take care of each other, watching each other's property when away and I share my chicky eggs. So, I wore my sunglasses
but forgot my hat. We shall see what my skin says tomorrow. lol

Good morning!
Sitting on my screened in porch having coffee since there is a light drizzle happening. I’m amazed at how strong the floral scent is. Honeysuckle, white lilacs and more I can identify. I wonder if the flowers on the tulip trees have a scent. Wish I could bottle it or make a candle. It’s delightful.
I feel the same way Peggy, I think I’ve gained at least 20 lbs. new medication this year and I’m a stress eater. Going for a walk in a bit.
Denise, an Epsom salt bath works wonders for my aches.
Have a delightful day!

Good morning! It’s a little bit drizzly here as well. You’re floral scents sound amazing! We have plenty of vegetation in our yard, but none seem to smell like much other than a kind of generic “green” scent. Haha!

Good Morning My Porchies...
WELCOME GINNYBELLE...AKA Hannah!!! We love getting new Farmgirls joining us on The Porch! Our weather is ovrecast today but suppose to clear off and be sunny this afternoon. Hope so...I would love to get a walk in. The rain comes back tomorrow for another 4 or 5 days! The weather lady says we are still in drought conditions but I don't know how. It seems like it rains a lot here lately. And she isn't factoring in the fact that when the snow melts off our Mountains we will make up the deficit. They are still able to ski up in our Mountains so, I'm not worried about lack of watershed! LOL
Deb...I like screened in Porches too. Especially if you live where there are a lot of bugs. When I was in Michigan when my oldest son and daughter in love lived for awhile...the homes there had Day Rooms instead of Porches. They were lovely but I will take a Porch any day of the week even if it is plain and only has room for one rocking chair like mine. I have to have that fresh air and breeze.
Patsy...I envy you having your first charbroiled food this year. We haven't had any yet. Can't wait however! I agree with you nothing tastes better. I love some good steaks or burgers, with grilled corn on the cob and grilled Pineapple slices too. Okay, you are making me hungry girl!! Which doesn't take much these days.
Denise...I don't know what candling eggs means. Please explain. Remember I'm a City Girl. I haven't lived on a real Farm since I-was a girl in Montana. And the chickens and roosters scared me. We had Banty Roosters and they were mean! When I was on The Tree Swing...they would fly up and try to peck my legs. And the cows were always getting out of the Fence from our neighbors across the highway and wander over to our farm and they wouldn't let my brother walk down the long driveway from the school bus. So, mom and I would have to walk to the Gate on the side of our property and escort my brother into the back door of the house. We just played at Farming our Neighbors were the real Farmers. LOL
I haven't knit anything for awhile...so I just ordered a Blanket from Annie's Attic where you get three squares a month and in 11 months you have an Afghan done. I Ordered The Seashore Colors. I will learn 3 new stitches a month. I decided after this huge Diamond Painting I just finished...I was ready for a little break and knitting sounded good again.
Well, I best get to doing something. Have a Great Friday Girls!
Love, Hugs, and Joy, Peggy

Peggy, Candling eggs is holding the egg in front of light to see the embryo. She did it to see if the egg had been fertilized and had a possible chick growing. If so into the incubator it went not into the carton for selling. I have been looking for a good diamond painting kit to do for my first one. Don't want anything to big though. Deb, I have trouble getting in and out of the tub so I do showers instead. I have much trouble with sciatica and a pinched nerve in my back. I have things to use to get relief. A tens unit when I can remember I have it to use. A great topical Arnica rub too. They ease the pain but it rarely goes away.
Reached 84 here today. It was wonderful to have warmth and sunshine. I just checked and it's 72 at 9:30 tonight. Going to be a warm night for sleeping. This is the first day it has been in the 80's so far this year. Not unheard for this month but we've been having 50 and 60 degree weather mostly.
