Today was a perfect day to spend with my embroidery machine..between phone calls that is...

I played with a few patterns..

I also decided to embellish my newest made apron,,

and a new mug rug for me...

I really need to buy a new camera,, my photos are terrible and I am having issues down loading the photos..
or... maybe I will just go play some more in my sewing room... I can always go on-line and buy a camera.. lolol!

Everything looks very nice. I don't think you need a new camera; the pictures are great but if you need an excuse then go ahead and treat yourself. I have an embroidery machine but found I just didn't have the patience for it so it's looking for a new home.

Love the apron and the mug rug!! What size is it? My machine does 4x4". The only thing I'd change is mine would be purple LOL!! I agree with Judith - your pictures look good to me. I bet with your deal finder ability you'd be able to get a bargain on a camera if you put your mind to it!

Heather, I did these designs on my 4x4... the mug rug one is about 3.5 x 3.5 and is a built in design, but all the other ones are patterns I bought at " embroiderydesigne " on line.

Oh Judith,, bummer, that you are not using your machine.. What brand is it?
It took me awhile to get use to switching out threads,, and down loading and uploading..

Wow, Grace!! These examples of embroidery with your machine are really pretty and they add such beautiful details to all of your projects. One of the things I love are a embroidered pillowcases that sometimes I can find in antique stores. Now you can make them just the way you want and with the colors you lke best. This machine is amazing!

Winnie, I did these on my 7 y/o Brother machine,, it still works great..
I did buy a new one several months ago, that can stitch up 5x7 designs as well...

and I agree... embellishing pillow cases, aprons, T-shirts or what ever. is fun...
My close-up vision is so poor that I can only hand stitch for about 15min... before my eyes go wonky on me,, so having the embroidery machine is just another avenue for my creativity..

I plan to make a machine embroidery quilt,,, I will stitch up 9 or 12 blocks depending on the block size... and stitch the blocks with a print or other complimentary fabric.. Kind of like the little garden quilt block banner I did 2 years ago.. But that will be a project down the road... Hopefully not a PHD (project 1/2 done)..
snorks-n-giggles...

here a few of my mini quilts that have machine stitch embroidery..

I want to do another one,, but bigger,, in a tea theme...

the next 2 photos are of a quilt that is a combo of hand and machine embroidery..

I actually don't mind mixing the 2 types of stitchery in a project..

It also makes for a quick project..

I machine embroidered a friends name and a flower on an over sized mug rug..
She was going through Chemo,,, I sent this along with a rose deco'd tea cup and some herbal tea..
I am happy to say she is 3 years cancer free!
