This July, we celebrated our 6th year on our farm in Middle Tennessee. To mark this occasion, we spoiled ourselves and bought an above ground pool! After years of dreaming of a cooling deep in our own pond ( sadly our clay doesn't retain water and the cost to make it retain outweighs the benefits ) we decided to get a 27' pool! Talk about a huge investment! The pool, which I jokingly call Big Blue, sits beside our barn so I can float and talk to our goats.
Hopewell Farm has come a long way in the 6 years since we bought our little square house on the hill. When we first bought it there was nothing but the house and old falling down barb wire fencing. We have since built a barn, paddock, pastures, garage, flock house and a seedling house, a large kitchen garden beside the house and purchased then modified a shed into a 2 season escape. So much in so little time but we are finally reaching the stage of being able to enjoy our farm! Now the wait begins for our Nubian does to start producing kids so I can enjoy home raised goat milk! |

Jennifer welcome to the Farm from northeast Texas. Loved hearing abut your Hopewell Farm and new pool. Enjoy your life on the hill. I'll be looking for you around the Farm.

The name is a play on words I came up with one morning while having my coffee. I said, jokingly, we do things and hope it all goes well....which then became I hopewell...and finally just Hopewell. It seemed fitting for a farm name as everything we do as farmgirls we do and hope for the best. |

Thank you everyone! We had a loss today on the farm when our buck died. He was only 1 1/2 yrs old. I suspect barber pole worms as we had a very wet summer but none of our other goats have been effected, thank God.

Your farm sounds wonderful! And also very beautiful. That is a lot of work in such a short time. I would love to float in the pool and talk to goats. I love goats and talk to mine quite often.

Jennifer, congratulations on all of the great work you have done on your farm the past 6 years!! Wow, it all sounds like a lot of work but how wonderful that it is now just the way you love it. The kitchen garden is so pretty and I love the flowers. My daughter raises dairy goats and they do suffer in very wet periods. Hopefully your current wormer will keep all of the other herd healthy too. Enjoy your little paradise!

Jennifer. It takes courage and a lot of hard work to be a farmer. You've done it! Now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. Enjoy the pool too.
