                      | Welcome Kelly and Diana it was 48 when I woke up this morning and hot coffee was most welcome as I sat on the deck wrapped in a blanket enjoying the cool morning. It was reminding me that our harvest season and crisp cool mornings are right around the corner.

                      | Oh Julie! My favorite time of year! Please count me in as I count down to cooler days. I can't wait for 48 degree mornings. In the mid Atlantic we don't get cool as fast as our northern neighbors but at least we aren't too far behind.

                      | Hi Julie, Please sign me up, I've been bitten by the fall bug, too!! While we are still 90/95 during the day, we are 40's in the morning here on the high desert now, so fall has definitely settled in the air and you can't miss it every morning!! It's lovely!

                      | I am definitely dreaming about cool crisp weather and autumn leaves, unfortunately it is hot and humid here. I heard on the radio that weather forecasters are predicting a very hot September. Boy do I ever hope they have that wrong!

                      | I have to admit, reading through all your posts about the warm weather you are all having makes me wonder what it would be like. I guess it’s part of living in Atlantic Canada, but my bones still feel cold and wish in some ways summer wasn’t coming to an end as I don’t feel I had enough warm weather. A typical day here in July and August is 64 overnight, with 77 as a high. For the last two weeks of August it drops and is much lower, and June is still quite cool. You can’t plant a garden here until about the 3rd week of June. I do love fall though....it’s my favourite time of year. I just wish we had a warmer longer summer :) I often wish I was American so I could live there!

                      | Joyce we have similar weather to yours. We might have a few 90 degree days in July and August, but for the most part it stays in the 70's and 80's throughout the summer. The short growing season makes it a challenge for gardening, but I make it work and grow everything I possibly can. Our days next week are only supposed to be in the 60's, a reminder that fall is fast approaching. We do need a few weeks of warm weather yet for our corn to finish drying down and the soybeans to finish filling their pods. I am planting mums today, I don't want to push out my summer flowers, but the pots by the front door are looking rather wind blown and ragged, so it's time for a spruce up.
A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

                      | We are just now getting a week of mid 70's to low 80's. I am very much looking forward to it. I have much more energy in the fall and winter. It gets hot here with heat indexes in the 100's for a week at a time. Spurs on headaches from the heat.
Joyce I would love to have summers like that. We used to when I was growing up in upstate NY. I sure miss those.

                      | Welcome ladies. Looks like rain for us all weekend, so I am harvesting most of the sweet corn today so I can process it over the next few days and digging a bucket of potatoes to make a potato salad for a birthday party. Harvesting all the good things is always a sign fall is coming. I even saw a few golden leaves yesterday so I know it must be true.
A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.
