I am the proud new owner of a few small planter warts on the bottom of my big toe. I have gotten these before when ever I was pregnant, during puberty and now I am post-menopausal so I think they come on when I am hormonaly challenged. My question is does anyone have a way to remove them rather then taking them to be frozen or burned off. I have found sites that talk about duct tape vs doctors and it seem that they both have the same results. Has anyone tried duct tape? I just hate to go to the doctor and pay his big fees if duct tape will do the same thing.

I have used duct tape successfully on two of my childrens warts. I got a but of guff from my Mom, but it worked well! It did take some time. Each time the tape fell off we scraped the wart cells off then retaped it. Teh tape will not allow air to the wart and so kill it. The good skin around it will be fed by your blood stream and so be healthy. Good luck. PS stick a little slice of garlic under there and it will die sooner! Tea tree oil is also good to help, but hat makes the tape less sticky!

I tried all kinds of things from grated potato (that left a mess in my sock) to castor oil. What finally worked was some pure vitamin E oil 2x per day. I would put a bandaid over it. Maybe it was the constant bandaid and not the vitamin E. Hmmm. The wart kept coming up and peeling away until finally the "seed" came up and I could scrape it away. No more problems since then.

Thanks Ladies I'm off to try the handi-mans help and hopefully avoid a costly doctor bill. I'll try the tea tree oil too as I already have that.

I have heard scrape the insdie of a banana peel and put this pulp on the wart, cover with tape or bandaid for 3 days.
I have a plantar wart too and it always comes back....I haven't tried this method.
This remedy comes by way of an old country doctor. Dr. Dick Frymeier
He has been on the talk show I listen to on the way from work. He is also a huge proponent of castor oil and old tyme remedies you can find around the house. |

One of my sons was fighting warts, on his hands though, and the best and quickest thing we tried, after a number of dr. visits, was wart cream for cows. We had some for a show steer, and it worked great on my son. Michele |

Just a funny planters wart story.
When my son was 3 he got several on the ball of his foot. He complained for weeks about the pain. I didn't know what to do about it. In his own little head he came up with a cure. He insisted on wearing wet socks to bed. He has always been extremely hard headed and I could not get him to bed with dry socks. Wouldn't you know it, in about three days those warts were gone and stopped hurting. I have no idea where he got this idea or why it worked. I do know that once he has something in his mind he doesn't let it go and uses his planters wart "cure" as an example of his brillance.

I had been plagued with warts for about the last 7 years. I was starting to contemplate paying tons of money to have laser surgery to get them to go away as they were spreading horribly fast and were starting to infect my hands and even a few spots on my face! *ick!*
During my pregnancy I couldn't use any of the acids to kill the warts and even freezing them was not recommended. But I recently realized that ever since giving birth, all my warts have died! Even the ones on my hands that were growing really fast died within about 2 weeks of giving birth.
I am not sure if this has to do with my hormones fluctuating or what but for whatever reason, I am grateful! I was so worried that I was going to spread them to Nora!

Thanks for all the great ideas ladies, I am going to go try some on myself and my son. I don't know which came first, the chicken or the egg, but we are passing them to each other!
