While clearing out my kitchen for our move I came across my mother's ice cream scooper. She used to give us a little ice cream before bed. It has to date back almost 55yrs. It had a bad split in the handle and I was going to toss it. I was showing it to Hubby and telling him the history. He asked if he could look at it. Sure I say.
He fixed the split with carpentars glue and a clamp, then soaked it for a week in polyurethane then polished it up. The split closed up but is still seen. I am very pleased with the results.
Resortations do not always have to be large furniture items. Sometimes they can be simple reminders such as Chocloate chip ice cream before bed when you are 6 years old.
Me at 6yrs in first grade.

Now that ice cream scoop is a tired and true classic!! Your stories add another layer of beauty too. So happy that you found this little bit of family history to keep with you as you move onward to another home too. We must be the archivists of our family stories and pass them on to our younger family members so that they will continue the history.
