There has been some news recently of earthquakes rattling California...How are the Calif. farmgirls doing? Are the nerves a little frazzeled? What is it like to live under that threat? Do you have a plan of action, just in case? Sending you all in this area positive thoughts and prayers for protection.

Thanks for asking! We felt the one centered in Anza (near Palm Springs) last Sunday. I usually think it's good to feel something little , knowing pressure is being relieved, but with so much activity lately (world-wide), it is a bit spooky. We do have our emergency plan in place; out-of-state contacts, etc. We also have food and water stored for emergency use. The shakers have reminded me that we need to "freshen" our stored water. We had been keeping everything (tents, abgs, stove, food, water)out in the kid's old playhouse because I figured if an earthquake came along that was big enough to keep me out of my house, I'd never get to stuff stored in the basement. Things have filtered back inside, so we'd better take care of getting things in place too. I guess we all have unpredictable nautral disasters we have to deal with. I'll take my chances with a quake on a God-knows-when basis over the annual tornado and hurricane seasons anyday! It is nice to know we're all keeping each other in our thoughts and prayers :) |
