It's February! Which means it's time to start thinking of our March Mail Art.
If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art to read our guidelines.
FOR MARCH, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through FEBRUARY 18th. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.
The theme for this month is... All Around the World! Since March 20th is International Earth Day (and also the Vernal Equinox) I thought we could celebrate our beautiful planet. And as always, if you fancy something else for the theme, feel free to do your own thing.
I will send an email with your partner to you on FEBRUARY 19th. Please send your Mail Art before MARCH 30th. And be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination.
I'd like to encourage everyone to post a comment on this thread when you receive your mail art. And if you can, a picture is nice. We all love seeing the inspiring art! And a quick thanks lets your partner know you received your mail art.

Your photo is much better than mine, thanks for sharing! It did come out great & already hanging on my wall :) Such a nice combination of simple items, and recycled to boot. The wire work looks tricky, is that something you have practiced with previously? The shapes are so smooth in their curves, yet nice and flat against the board. Are the butterflies protected with something like mod-podge? The composition of the piece is very pleasing to the eye! Thank you so much!! I do love it, fantastic idea!

Yes, I've been playing with wire for quite a while now. I love getting different results from twisting and bending! It all started 2 years ago making owl claws for textile art!!! The magazine butterflies were mod podged and the thread dipped in glue as well to stiffen! Im' just so happy you liked it. The boards was off an old shed!! Happy creating hon!:)

Thanks Dianna! I remember seeing photos of some owls you made, they were cool!! I just picked up small pliers and craft wire to hang something, ha, I feel ridiculous I didn't pull wire out of my fencing bucket!!! My fence pliers are kind of big though, lol. Have a great day! Oh! My DH doesn't usually notice/comment on things I change around, but he noticed this piece, he really liked it too!!

Despite ample time, and setting my own mail out goal for the 20th... I kept fooling around until the last minute, of course I would have time to skip into town this morning to make the post office "in time"... you know just where this is going right??? So I pinky swear, the box will leave for Idaho on Monday!
Dianna, couple visitors complimented your piece :) It is right on a narrow wall between two doors in my dining room/kitchen area, it is the focal point there, and looks fabulous! (I used to hang calendars there).

Well look what I found on my front porch when I got home this evening??? What a happy surprise! I wouldn't have known who sent it except for the tiny little typed name on the box! No card was enclosed. They are just beautiful Cydnie! Did you hand paint them and are they recycled??? I do love them!!! Thank you so much, and YES,,I was surprised!!! Happily!!
