I'm new to the sisterhood and am a little overwhelmed by all of the merit badges that I can earn. Can anyone give me some ideas on a lip balm recipe that it nourishing and moisturizing? I live in Alvordton Ohio and wonder if there is anyone else out there who lives close to me.

Lori, I can't help you with the lip balm but I am happy you are here and wanted to say welcome to the forum. My daughter and her family live in SW Ohio. Is that anywhere near you?

Lori, welcome here to MJF! Yes, all the badges offer many opportunities to learn new skills and ways of living. They are there to do at your interest level and own pace. No hurry or expectations either. You do what you want to do when you want to. It is all about learning and having fun, so don't feel pressure to do a lot each year.
On a different note, what are some of your interests and passions? Mine are reading about history, mysteries, and Biographies. Plus, I love to knit simple things and do easy fun crafts.

I agree with Winnie! Don't feel any stress or pressure to complete them in a hurry. Find one that sticks out the most to you and start there! All of us will be happy to help! I don't have a lip balm recipe, but I'm sure someone does. Have you tried searching it in the search bar yet?

Denise - Thank you so much for your reply. I'm in the N.W. corner of Ohio. I'm just so excited to be a part of the sisterhood. This is going to be so much fun.

Red Tractor Girl, Thank you for answering me. I love to crochet, read mysteries, and do crafts. I'm looking into some other recipies to try. I might try some homemade deodorant or a sugar scrub. There are so many different things to try. I'm excited about all of this.

Krista, I have not tried the search. I'll do that and see what results come up. Thank you. There are so many merit badges that it can be overwhelming. I'm trying to get used to getting around the site.

Hi Lori, Yes, there are a LOT of merit badges to earn. Try to think of just a FEW that interest you right now and start with those. You do have to earn them in order: beginner, intermediate, expert . . . even if it something you already know how to do. You can always come back to the Connection to ask questions about any of them . . we'll try to help you out! WELCOME! CJ
