I found a lovely pressed glass corn bottle the other day-- it's about six inches tall and shaped like a cob of corn. It's clear glass, except for the husk, which is green glass. It has a pump dispenser. I'm using it my kitchen as a dish soap dispener. But I like it so much, I would love to find more in different shapes-- tomatoes, lettuce, fruit-- whatever else might be out there. I looked on ebay and tried googling, but I haven't come across anything else like it. Has anyone seen these before and have more info?

Me thinks it was an Avon hand lotion bottle....I have one that belonged to my mother in law. I have no idea if they had other vegetables or fruits, haven't seen any. It must have been a gift to her, as it was still in the box. Not something she would buy herself. The lotion was rancid when I found it, going through her belongings, but I couldn't bear to toss it, so cheaned it out and have used it at the sink also. I'm guessing early to mid 70's, but someone who collects Avon probably would know. If you check eBay under Avon collectibles, it might help.

You're right-- I saw my exact bottle on Ebay for $6. I didn't see any other vegetables, but they do have an amazing array of other shapes. My great grandfather had the milk glass Snoopy lotion dispenser, which my sister now has. I don't really need another collection, but... I really like the western-themed ones-- stagecoach, horses, cowboy boots, tepees... I might have to start up another collection! And the milk glass ones would really fit in with my milk glass collection!

I have the Snoopy aftershave bottle -- was my Mum's.

I've seen some fish-shaped bottles, but not with dispensers.

Anyway -- cool find for your dish soap!
