Maddie, I love the picture of Madeline that you used. It flooded my heart and mind with sweet funny memories of reading the book aloud at nap time as well as my grand daughters watching a Madeline movie with the chicken in the cage that was cooked for their dinner...and none of the little girls could eat! We lived the movie and laughed each time they chose to watch it. So even though we don't know each other, I feel as though we do! Thanks!

Well Dianna, we had 1 & 1/2" Sunday afternoon. Drizzled on Monday more on Tuesday and Wednesday. You know when you get spits and sputters with a brief downpour now and again. Then overnight last night we got 1 & 1/2" more. Today was sunny but just after seven pm the bottom fell out. 2 & 3 /4" more rain. And that was about 8 :00 when I looked. We have had more, in fact it is raining now. This is a test of the road. We haven't had so much rain in about four years. Two years ago they redid the drainage where our lane feeds into the county road...both kaliche. Let's hope it works. We are in a flash flood alert until ten in the morning. The rain is a blessing. It has been so dry. I am so thankful that God sent us rain.

Hi Kristi :-) I see Marilyn, said her book is quite fat & may come apart. If you go to the middle of the book & wrap several layers of ribbon, twine or string, it will help to enforce the weight of the pages. Actually this should be done every several pages, for weight distribution. By the time you add all the trimmings these books will be very heavy indeed & may even split the spine.

Marilyn happy yall finally got rain!!! I know you've been dry in that area for a while now! Hopefully the culverts are strong and supportive to handle the deluge! Enjoy some indoor weather and relax! I love the rainy days but we've had too many here!

Well our road is ok. The lane to the barn...not so much. No rain yet today. I did not get to the PO and everyone in my family was working or out of town, so they could not stop and get it.When I
Finished chores at the horse barn, I smelled like urine but still can't decide if it was calf or horse or both. My son has a blower, and he told me he uses it to blow the dirt and hay bits out Of the barn. That may be why I smelledl!!! When I hit that switch...dirt and alfalfa bits went everywhere, and I had already swept up the hay and calf poop and taken it away.Of course I had to sit down for a while and cool off before getting in the shower. I will go in the morning early. I'm excited to see the smash book that is waiting there for me.
