I think that works, in time the pencil fades, just as long as it is not to dark. I am so glad you posted this, I too am feeling unsure about my circle. I hope more people offer up their advice as I know I would appreciate their help. I am always so unsure when it comes to these kinds of things. I guess I just want to be sure I am doing the right thing especially when it comes to helping a person who is in such sad times.

The pencil will work Michele, but if you have the time and inclination purchase a "mark be gone" pen. I find mine in the quilting section. Some wash out and some sort of disappear with time. If you don't want to wash your circle, a damp cloth should remove most of the markings.

Both of you girls, take it easy on yourselves!! You are doing a wonderful thing from the heart, your circles will come out beautiful!

Maryjane posted a heart rending story about the accident of a beloved MJF employee and friend on another thread of conversation - the one inquiring about Cindylou. Go to Active Topics to find it and read about the tablecloth project that MaryJane is organizing as a gift to Julie Bell.

Ok I read the other post.
Here is what I wrote
"I saw someone talking about circles on another part of the forum and was confused and was directed here. I am sorry this happened. I would like to help as things have been a little weird here this winter and helping others is always good. Maybe it is morning and I am not fully awake and AM not understanding the circle is it a circle that you embroider on the traced line of the cd and fill in with embroidery is this right if so I am happy to make one."

If you could help me to know what I am making I would greatly appreciate it so I can do this too.

I believe it's supposed to be similar to the signature quilt that was done my all the chapters. They had the name and then had embroidered something that reflected where they were from, or who they were as a group. The edges are to be left raw and will be stitched onto another piece of fabric that will make up the table cloth. If you read through the entire thread, Mary Jane has several posts explaining what she's looking for.

Blessings,

Missy

Okay, thanks, Missy - but I am not a quilter, and I am just guessing that being that it's a "signature" tablecloth, that the main thing is that it's supposed to have our name on it? So that is what I am doing, in my very basic and primitive embroidery, and then whatever other patterns I can come up with...I must say, though, that I enjoyed getting started on this last night and am about half way done...In any event, Julie will know this was stitched with love. my question is the circle the out side of the block or do we embroider that and then embroider inside of the circle too. I am confused and no one seems to want to answer this or know what I am saying. They just keep saying read mj posts I did before I ever posed my question it is not clear. Is that line going to be her cutting line or is that an embroidery boarder.

The cd is the cutting line..we are to embroider inside the circle. She is going to attach the raw edged muslin circles of love to a backing for a tablecloth for Julie. Neat idea, isn't it??

I wish her well and lots of love. I will get to work on this.

P.S.
Sorry if I seemed confused or even grumpy life has been chaotic the last few days at our house my middle daughter was believe to have appendicitises problem on Friday and had an ultra sound done three different blood works and a cat scan no appendicitis but other problems we found out today and need another cat scan. SO I was already upset at the doctos telling me Friday/ Saturday morning she was fine when all weekend we had problems. Then today my normal doctor finds out they gave me the wrong test results and she does look to have something wrong and another cat scan is needed.

ANy way sorry if I seem abrupt or rude bad day on my side. I just wanted to help where I could and it didn't happen at home or here so I was upset sorry.

Sunshine, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter and I hope she gets well soon. I was right there with you not knowing...but now it seems Jenny has cleared it up for me and you and others too. Take care of yourself! Judy

Actually, I was confused on whether to embroider the outside edge of the circle, just trace and leave uncut (in case they want to turn under raw edges before attaching) or cut it out directly. I am going to trace the circle, embroider inside and let them cut it out so it does not fray too much.

Actually the edges will be left raw. The person getting them likes the look of frayed edges so she will be sewing in about 1/4 inch.
