Four circles are in the mail tomorrow, MJ. Praying and healing through stitching is very theraputic (for me), and a simple way to make a difference from afar. Thank you for organizing this.

I just saw this thread -- must have missed it earlier -- and simply don't know what to say. I'll get something in the mail within a day or two.

I'm fighting back the tears after reading this thread, I feel for both ladies who just are apart of the farm and will always be! My circle and a card will go in a day or two. Such a sad story and such a loss, I can't imagine what Julie is trying to cope with, my prayers go out to her! Sending hugs to the farm!!

My heart aches for all of you in this grief filled time. I pray that Julie can pull through all of these wounds.....only a wonderful spirit such as she has could do it, so I know she will. Please tell her how much we pray for her and love her because we could always feel her love. Let us know how the circle tablecoth is coming.

May the circle be unbroken.....by and by, now, by and by.

While I am sitting and waiting on my daughter to come out of surgery tomorrow I will be embroidering a circle for the tablecloth. I was so so sad to hear this and wanted so bad to hold my man when I heard it. Life is so short and we never know when will be the last word we speak to our loved ones. So keep it sweet! We have been asked so many time if we never fight. The answer is NO. Not even an argument. Not worth it. We spend so much time apart with Husbands work that there is no way we are wasting one moment of our lives on such silliness.

I cannot imagine the grief. My heart breaks for her and wish Julie all the best. Much love to all of you who mean so much to all of us.

I am late coming to this thread. I am so sorry to hear of the troubles. I know that Julie must be beside herself with anxiety and grief. The tablecloth is a touching symbol of how much we all care. Thanks, MaryJane, for giving us this opportunity.

Oh how sad to hear this - I can't imagine the grief that Julie is going through with the loss of her two favourite men - I'm sending hugs and prayers - and I love the signature circle quilt idea - what a touching gift to give to her - an outpouring of kindness from farmgirl friends!

I am just seeing this thread as well. My heart is heavy from the grief that Julie and those who love her must bear. Too much pain. I will certainly make a signature circle for the tablecloth. It will be the most plain and unadorned circle in the lot because I don't know where to begin to do it. But, I want to be a part of this project. We FarmGirls are a safety net for each other. We support and hold each other up, even though we haven't met in person. We will support and hold Julie and MaryJane and everyone else at the Farm up during these sad times. I wish we could do more.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. What a horrible thing. I'd like to send in a signature circle, but I've never done any embroidery so it might literally take months. Is there a cutoff date on which you will finish the tablecloth?

This has really been a rough winter for Mary Jane's Farm. Hope things turn around for you with the spring. I'll be praying for you all.

I saw someone talking about circles on another part of the forum and was confussed and was directed here. I am sorry this happened. I would like to help as things have been a little weird here this winter and helping others is always good. Maybe it is morning and I am not fully awake and AM not understanding the circle is it a circle that you enbroider on the traced line of the cd and fill in with embroidery is this right if so I am happy to make one.

I'm so sorry to hear of this. I read about this in the paper, but had no idea that this gentleman was Julie's love. I can't even begin to think how hard this is for her. I'm not a very good embroiderer, but I'll work on a circle too.

I just read this too. When do we need to have the circles to you MJ? If I missed the date, please forgive me. It's been a tiring week around here. Embroidery is not my strong suit, but I will do my best!

Good morning farmgals. For those of you who have asked questions, here are a few more details about Julie's tablecloth and the circles.

On a piece of off-white muslin, trace a circle the size of a CD. You can either cut it out at this point (I don't have a problem embroidering on a small piece of loose fabric) OR you can put an embroidery hoop to the entire piece of fabric with your CD circle in the center and cut the circle out AFTER you've finished putting your "signature" creativity to the circle. (Make sure you don't use something "loud" like a permanent black magic marker. If you do, maybe use that on what will become your "wrong" side.)

Let's get them all here by March 9. I may fly south to see Julie mid-March and would love to show her our project by then. I doubt I'll have the tablecloth done by then but I could work on it on the airplane and I'm sure seeing your circles would be a boost to her.

I do think your name, either first and last, or just last, or your screen name, somehow embroidered, or beaded or .... in the circle would be enough. (Sunshine, you're so amazing you'll probably filet crochet your name in the center of a *sun*...tonight!!!!!)

If you want to add anything else like lace or rickrack or a small heart or hands or something, make sure you keep all your work 1/4 inch in from the raw edge so I have room to attach the circle to a bigger circle of fabric that will become her tablecloth. I'll either hand stitch or machine stitch around each circle leaving the edge to fray slightly when washed, similar to how we do the 4" x 4" squares on our farmgirl tote bag specials.

Julie took John's laptop with her and has checked in on the forum.

"I've been reading the chat room and it gives me comfort, tears, and feels like a huge hug from all these glorious women. I have learned to accept the gift of giving. John said to me, "I don't take score." I can't express the thankfulness in my heart for what is happening in the homes of farmgirls everywhere. I feel their strength. This is not a task I can do alone."

Oh, such sadness...Life is so short. And so bitter-sweet. I am thinking of you all, especially Julie. I have been touched by an unexpected death too, a neighbor who had just given birth to her fourth child.

Reading all of the posts by my FarmGirl Friends makes me want to gather my loved ones and hold them alittle closer...

I am holding everyone who is mourning alittle closer too, in my heart and prayers.
Love and light to you

thank you MJ
I wish her well and lots of love. I will get to work on this.

P.S.
Sorry if I seemed confused or even grumpy life has been chaotic the last few days at our house my middle daughter was believe to have appendicitises problem on Friday and had an ultra sound and did three different blood works and a cat scan no appendicitis but other problems found. I found out yesterday and they need another cat scan. So I was already upset at the doctors telling me Friday/ Saturday morning she was fine when all weekend we had problems. Then yesterday my normal doctor finds out they gave me the wrong test results and she does look to have something wrong and another cat scan is needed. Which is frustrating as most know we have not had a paycheck since mid July we do have money for the bills it just makes it tighter. Take care and thank you for doing this for Julie

Any way sorry if I seem abrupt or rude bad day on my side. I just wanted to help where I could and it didn't happen at home or here so I was upset sorry.

Sunshine - a hug to you too! I hope your daughter can get the right diagnosis, and the right treatment soon, so she will feel better! I know how you feel.

Julie Bell- learning how to receive is hard when you are such a giver. We love you.
