I live in Montana and am *really* looking forward to sun again! But I lost my hat last summer and need to start making a new one. I can't buy hats because "one size fits all" does not fit my big head and curly hair. My skin is very fair and I absolutely have to have something that's easy to carry everywhere. I am a skilled seamstress, but don't have hours to devote to this creation.
I've thought of an old-fashioned sunbonnet, but am not finding patterns that look appealing. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for finding a good hat pattern? What are your favorites? |

| I actually have a really good hat pattern for this. I might actually already have the hat you want- I was working on one which I had modified, and forgot to modify the last few rows, and it's too big on me, but it fits' my dh's curly hair perfectly, so it'll prolly fit yours. It's Lion Brand homespun yarn (which I think is luxuriously soft for being store yarn - yes, I admit, I'm a yarn snob!). I accented it with a dragonfly pin. It's really cute. Anyway, I do wear the hat, so I'm not positive I want to give it up- but I can definitely give you the pattern, if you're interested, and maybe tomorrow, I'll have decided if I want to let the hat go. (It's the first thing I crocheted in the round, and I'm rather attached. :)) |

If you are willing to give the pattern, I did not ask the question, but would love to have the pattern. I was thinking of making a hat, thus to stop stealing my sons ball caps (which do not provide enough shade).
I am sure that he would love the fact that Mom would have her own too.
