Okay, I'm jumping on the band wagon! I have a meeting tomorrow right down the street from a huge thrift store. I decided that tomorrow....I'm going in! You seasoned thrifters, tell me how to do this. How do I find all the good stuff you guys find? What's the secret in "conquering" a thrift store?

Take your time, sometimes I find the best stuff on my second or third time of walking by the same place. Good luck, we will wait to hear how it goes. Keep in mind, at least at my store, they put new stuff out all the time. NANCY JO

Definitely take your time. I always take a couple of tours whether it's a thrift shop, antique mall or yard sale. Your eyes can't take in everything at one time! (Unless you have them in the back of your head!) Good luck!

I agree with everyone above, do a couple of tours. I usually do one quick one and make a mentle note and then go around a few more times.
If it is something I collect and/or may want I ALWAYS pick it up. Just because you carry it around qwith you doesn't mean you have to take it. I've lost too much neat stuff that way. Better to have in hand and put back than never have in hand at all!!!

The thing is, We "seasoned" thrifters don't just go once. We go one day, and the next, and then again later that week... It's the Repetition that will gain you a treasure. Some days, you go in, and then leave with nothing.

Stuie and I found a queen or king size quilt in perfect condition, all hand embroidered and quilted a couple of weeks ago for $22!! Needless to say...At that same trip we also found a gorgeous floral bowl & cover that Stuie thinks goes back to the 1800s for $12, and last week we found a round linen Arts and Crafts hand embroidered tablecloth for $12. All at the same place! Woo hoo!!

Me too. I don't have digital. I"ll have to wait until I finish the role and then upload them. I get so jealous of you girls who can show photos instantly!
