2018 APRIL - SHILLYSHALLY SWAP
The ShillyShally Swaps are so much fun!
Here we go! Another swap for April! These are such nifty things to have around the house for so many uses!
For those wondering just what a ShillyShally is:
A ShillyShally you ask? Well it is simple! It is a 36x36 cut of fabric which can be used for cooling your neck to covering your lap whilst you shell peas! It can cover your head or it can be used to wipe little hands and faces! There are so many uses for a ShillyShally!
Each ShillyShally will be hemmed and the embellishing will be left to the receiver.
APRIL THEME: Fabric with BLUE in it: ApRiL: April Showers
For 2018 MAY be thinking: ...Bring May Flowers!
FEB - Red
MAR - Green / Insects
APR - Blue / Showers
MAY - Purple / Flowers
JUN - Yellow / Sunshine
JUL - Red White Blue / Patriotic
AUG - Beige / Pets
SEP - Teal / Vintage
OCT - Orange / Pumpkins
NOV - Brown / Leaves, Harvest
DEC - Christmas!
GUIDELINES FOR SHILLYSHALLY:
1. Choose a 36x36 piece of Cotton fabric. Prewash your fabric to cover any skrinkage prior to cutting so it will be true to size. Trim any selvage prior to hemming.
2. You will put a hem around the ShillyShally using embroidery, ribbon, rickrack, lace, decorative stitch, etc.
3. You will include 1-3 embroidery floss for your swap partner to use to embellish her ShillyShally
4. Please, no other tucks required. Let's keep it simple!
5. Please post pictures of your ShillyShally when you receive it so all the other Farmgirls can see our beauties!

I am currently making another S.S. for my mom, it will be out of flannel so she can put it on her lap... I think because of the nap/type of fuzzy fabric, things that fall in her lap might not slide onto the floor so readily.
I have a cotton one that we will use as a end tablecover to make her room more homey.

You gals are on the ball! I saw a super cute April fabric, but from an online store - I don't think I can pull it off quickly enough to jump in this time, but looking forward to photos of what you Farmgirls create!

Love the idea of a flannel Shilly Shally!!! I know your Mom will love it! I am using one of my SS to cover my little outdoor table when I sit outside! Makes things girly!!
