Ok so my right eye has been twitching and feeling fat for over two weeks with my left eye sometimes doing so as well. Right eye usually is upper lid or feels like the whole eye, left eye is lower lid.

Strange thing is while we were gone to Channel Islands and San Diego it didn't do it at all. Started again on the way back from San Diego-- small amount and has increased again today.

Very annoying & worrisome. I do have a neurological condition and don't want this to be a sign things are worse.

Any thoughts?

Holly

Holly!
Must be something in the air! Myself and another gal at work have been dealing with eye twitches!
I went to my acupuncturist this evening and told her about it and she did an eye treatment.
I'll let you know if tomorrow at work I still have the problem or if this took care of it.
So far so good!
I had read somewhere that muscle twitches are a sign of copper deficiency, I think it was in one of Dr. Wallach's books.
I'll keep you posted!

Stress will do it for me....when I had to give a presentation to the entire parent group of our elementary school, I felt like the entire left side of my face was convulsing, but when looking in the mirror, it was only the eyelid. Presentation over - twitch was gone.

I would not be surprised if there was also a vitamin/mineral deficiency involved, and maybe triggered by the stress factor.

I've tried to find a suitable exercise video for women my age...but they haven't made one called "Buns of Putty"

It's from fatigue and stress. I researched it on the internet when I had a 2 week eye twitch and that was the concensus...nothing more, nothing less :)

I get them when I have a pinched nerve in my neck. A visit to the chiropracter usually brings immediate relief.

Thanks, my worry is that it also hurts at times and truly feels fat/big even though it's not. I do have some pressure/discomfort along the bone under my eye as well.

I know, I'm a mess.

Well, so far so good, I went all day no twitches!
My vote is for acupuncture!
I bet acupressure would help too.
I'll do some reading...

Both Potassium and Magnesium deficiencies can cause twitches, hiccups (more than usual), and even heart arrythmias. My son has eye twitches when his potassium is low, and I get them also, but only when I am REALLY low (I get heart palpitations first, then twitches, most people get twitches first).

Prune Juice, bananas, Romaine Lettuce, Raisins are good sources of Potassium, and Romaine and Prunes are also good sources of Magnesium. Basically, lots of fresh fruits and veggies. If you get a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, and it gets worse, it should be checked out.
