Several years ago my husband and I stumbled upon a very old tin ..full of old recipes ..in a warehouse/junk shop. I salvaged the recipes I could..(a handful were salvagable)but now I no longer want or need them ..as I'm cleaning out my cookbooks and recipes. Doing some major clean out around here in preparation for an eventual move...
Anyhow..long story short..the first one to chime in saying that they want them..will be the lucky new owner.

Many of them are simply hand written on either a recipe card or note paper :

Recipes like:
Brown Sugar Pound Cake
Easy Moussaka
Tennessee Pumpkin Bread
Whole Wheat Rolls
Quail Magnificant
Butterscotch Pie
Fig Cake
Glory B. Cake

and several more

So..hurry up and email me if you want these.

I have no way of knowing how old they are.

Thanks...
~Tina

Shucks! Hey Karin, when you get those recipes, would you be willing to share them? Posting them on your blog or something? Hmmm.....pretty please? I adore old recipes and collect old cookbooks, to get old handwritten one is such a find!! Listen to that "Quail Magnificant" and "Glory B. Cake" how wonderful!!

I always am the last one to see posts like this! Georgann, I will definitely post some of the recipes. I don't have a blog- not that computer savvy! But, maybe I could scan them or something so you can see them.
I have a hankerin' for fig cake now! :)

Mmmm.....Karin, I can hardly wait. Tina, you are a doll to offer up something like this. What a treasure!!

Karin, the bloggin is pretty easy. I'm no where near as savvy as some of the farmgirls on this here computer, but...I can type, so I try to blog a little too. Oooo Faith, Butterscotch Pie...it does sound delicious!!

It might be fun to start a thread about old recipes over in the kitchen area. I've got a small cookbook about how to most effectively use the rations during WW2. It is a little crispy around the edges, but fun to read the recipes!
