I tried using search to see if anyone has ever started a thread on this, but with my very slow dial-up, I keep timing out before the search finishes. So I apologize if this has been discussed before.
I have some very old cast iron things (a couple of skillets, a corn bread pan with the ears of corn shapes, etc.) that I've cleaned up & seasoned, and I love how they look. I hate to just stick them in the oven when they're not being used (that's what my mother and mil both do). How do you display your cast iron skillets?
I thought about hanging them on the wall, but they'll leave marks on my white wainscoating, so that won't work. Any ideas??

| What about buying or making something wooden to hang the individual pots from? Like a nice piece of wood with small nails on which to hang your cast iron pieces? Even a strong section of garden lattice painted in some neat accent color with nails here and there to display them on? Or on a collage of different shaped/sized cutting boards arranged on the wall. I am sure the gals will come up with some great ideas..... Nance |

I really love the idea of the collage of different size/shape cutting boards! I have 2 already -- I got them in a box of stuff at an auction last summer. Both are very thick; 1 is shaped like a pig and the other is a basic rectangle. What a great idea -- thanks!!

I just set the really old interesting ones I don't use in front of my plants along the dining room wall. Most of the plants are in or on big old crocks, so they kinda ''go together''. Have two wrought iron bakers racks for the smaller plants, so the black matches and sets off the green plants and gray/tan crocks. Oh, I put the plants in old silverplate too, pieces that have lost some of the plating and not useful for serving anymore. Trays, bowls, coffeepots, cream and sugar containers. Stuff that's easy to find for not much $$ at thrift shops.

Mine stay on the stove or in the oven. I only have the usual round shapes so they get used everyday. My mother collects the tiny ones and she has them hanging on the wall.
