My DH has wanted a wool anorak/bushcraft coat for a long time but the purchased ones cost around $250 plus. I just happened to have a few military surplus wool blankets laying around and decided to make him one. I used a pattern from The Green Pepper called the Fairbanks Pullover as a guide but changed it up to suit what my DH was hoping for. I like it so much that I made one for myself! Total cost: blanket $20, pattern $8 and misc snaps, grommets etc...$5. The warmth while wearing...priceless!
Check out DH's you tube video about his anorak and subscribe to his channel "The Frugal Woodsman"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3QLgnogrzM
