HAPPY NEW YEAR!! It's time to start signing up for FEBRUARY Mail Art.
If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl MAIL ART to read our guidelines.
FOR FEBRUARY, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through JANUARY 15. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.
The theme is RED. I will send an email with your partner to you on JANUARY 16. Please, please, please send your Mail Art before FEBRUARY 28!! And be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination.
I'd like to encourage everyone to post a comment on this thread when you receive your mail art. And if you can, a picture is nice. We all love seeing the inspiring art! And a quick thanks lets your partner know you received your mail art.
If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email. I'm always delighted to help.
Happy swapping and farmgirl hugs,
MaryJane's daughter,
Meg megan@maryjanesfarm.org

Marilou, No Je parle très peu le français. I worked with a gal from France in the dental clinic in Germany and picked up a few words! I would love to learn! Care to teach me?? :)

Even so Dianna, it is still good that you learn and held the knowledge! It isn't an easy language to learn and even less to write! I don't really know how to teach (where to start?) but I'm sure am willing to try!
I would love to play! Am I correct in understanding that the mail should arrive in February, and that we are skipping January? And I do so wish everyone would post when they send and receive! I'm still waiting to see what Dianna made in December, and I'm wondering if no one else got anything last time! Every day I check to see if there's some news :-(
Marilou, your French accent is so adorable! I can understand what you wrote, but my one semester of French mostly confused my Spanish, so I dropped it. Now I wish I could pick it up again.
Just checking so I don't miss anything...I am new here and trying to get accustomed and not miss anything.
Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?

Hi Melissa! Welcome to the art group! There is a link describing this amazing talented group and what it entails! In fact Meg pretty much sums it up in December's mail art post! You will enjoy being a part of MaryJanes farmgirl sisters very much!

Sara!!! Her 'accent' does sound adorable doesn't it? I absolutely loved working with my friend Magali! I could have listened to her talk everyday!! Marilou I have no doubt you would make an excellent teacher!! As for mail art I am PATIENTLY awaiting its arrival to its destination!! I have pictures but did not want to spoil it for my partner!! Why is it taking so long??? :(

Alee,
Hi!
It doesn't look like we have the correct email or address for you?? Can you send me your mailing address to my email? I'll send addresses out to their partners here in a few hours, so if I don't get yours in in time, we'll for sure add it next time!!
Oh my goodness, we got home a bit late last night, and I found a box on my porch! Inside a beautiful swag that is going right up on the wall today, and a really pretty heart that has an incredible marble pattern. Thank you so much Becca Lou, I love them! The photos don't do them justice :) How did you create the patterns on the heart?
Thanks again Becca Lou, you really brightened my day!

the heart is done with a technique called acrylic pour. you mix up cups of paint, add some Flotrol. ( which keeps paint wet and moving for a while) and Silicone. then pour all the paints into the same cup and turn that cup upside down on your canvass. Tilt the canvass around, and you get the marbling, with the cells from the silicone. you can really get some interesting patterns.

My mail art left town this morning! I originally started out with pottery clay which broke as it was ready to go into the kiln. :( SO, went to plan B! I hope you like it my sweet art sister! Maybe next time it will be the pottery! :)
