We may not have as much snow as the East Coast.. but we do have our share... lol! Hubby had to wait till later in the day, when the snow finally stopped... to snow blow...
Our neighbor is temporary using our Run-In and pin for her 2 horses..
that's Spice... Kira is under the eves,, you barely notice her there.
and yes, we toss seed out for the birds,,, every birdie is welcome here...
I kid you not,, these are the fattest quail I have feed...

Grace...my mom isn't very happy with the snow in Spokane...but the ice is what freaks her out. She feels stuck in her house. When I see the snow pictures from there I remember WHY I LOVE IT HERE. LOL We had a White Christmas here in Vancouver but now it is all gone and I am so Happy. I can do snow for 3 days to a week and then I am so done with it. I guess living in Montana and Eastern WA my growing up years...made me a snow scrooge. LOL
I'm glad that there are people who enjoy it! It is Beautiful when it is falling and making everything pristine white.
Love and Hugs, Peggy

It is 60 degrees here, breezy, Beautiful Blue Colorado Sky and full sun! Gotta love our Colorado weather! We did not have a white Christmas for the first time in our 20 years here in Colorado! And we definitely need the moisture, Grace I love your pictures, just Beautiful. Peggy I would love to visit your area of Washington and you of course. We have only been to the lower right portion of your state. Been to Walla Walls and Milton-Freewater where I lived as a baby. Happy New Year,

Deb...my part of the State is much different than where you were born. So much more lush up here. 60 degrees today huh? And here I thought we were warm with 51 degrees. LOL You got me beat Girlfriend! But I am loving the day. My first day out of the house since Christmas Day...as I got the Flu...but now is turn into a sinus infection. Can't win for losing! I can't complain though...it wasn't as bad as my kids got. They are on round 4 of the Crud. There problem is that they don't stay down and in bed when they are ill. They have too many things they want to do. NOT me, bed rest and lots of liquids is my cure...and a big pot of homemade soup. I'm on my 3rd pot of soup today. Hope you guys had a Wonderful Christmas Deb. Ours Was Fabulous!

Hey Peggy,, had to make a trip into Spokane,, it was a tad warmer and a bit sunny today so you know what that means,,, Slush. Slush and more Slush!! The main artierials are plowed/melted,, but a lot of the side streets are still a mess...tomorrow the temps are suppose to drop which means we are gonna have a icy mess... I actually live 1mil from the National Weather station ( I use to live across the road and less then 1000ftdown the road..)but we had a Spokane addy... it use to be a Medical Lake addy until the 1950's when the County lines were moved.... Now I live just down the road, 7/8 of a mile from that house and we have a Medical Lake addy. Our weather is so different then in Spokane proper... Love Hate relationship with the snow. lol!

Bonnie, you do win the cold temps contest. Only -11 here west of Chicago. Our snow is beautiful though and the sun is shining with bright blue skies. Last night my son and I went to the Morton Arboretum's Illumination (holiday light show). We were super bundled up and never once felt cold on the one mile trail. Dress right & you can still play in winter! It will be nice when this arctic blast clears out by next weekend.

5 degrees in Elkhart , IN . I haven't been anywhere in two days. Went to the store Saturday a.m. to stock up on groceries after hearing the weather reports. I'm on "vacation" until the 8th. Going to keep 4 of our 12 grandchildren for three days; that will be exciting! Perfect weather for baking cookies and getting started on Valentine crafts.
Happy New Year to All

Grace, I agree I do miss the sun but when we lived in Mn the sun was out much more in the winter but having no cloud cover made the nights much colder. Once I drove to the University which was about 4 1/2 miles away and it was -25 god knows what the wind chill was and my car NEVER warmed up! |

Today, as I am typing these comments, we are having freezing rain and sleet here in north central Florida!! It is 35 degrees outside and truly raw and miserable. This is quite unusual for us and weather is predicting snow/sleet for all the counties north of us up into Georgia. The next few days will see temps drop at night into the mid 20s. Last year, we only had about 3-4 nights of freezing temps so this is an unusual stretch of winter weather for us. However..........we had a very long, hot, and miserably humid Summer in 2017. A bit of cold will be good to tamper down the mosquitoes and flies that were awful all the way into the late fall this year.

Winnie,, Yikes! I have seen friends posting (panama city & Ocala area) that it is uber cold... unlike what they normally deal with. I hope the citrus crops do not take a hit... I know in Central CA,,, the farmers have their Smudge pots and windmills going when the temps drop...
I own a parcel of land in Ocala,,, but since it's not developed,,, I am not to worried.
Stay warm farm sister.
