I have a house that was built in 1882.I'am refurbish the kicthen like it was in 1910.I have the wood cook stove,Hoosier cabient,a very large oak ice box with a spigot for cold water very rare. Just bought a porcelain dry sink, with a hand kicthen pump for water. Do any of you ladys have a kicthen like this?

Well, Dennis, my farmhouse kitchen is only a figment of my imagination right now. The old part of my house was built in 1918. I have bought(and stored, for now): a circa 1936 two door GE monitor top refrigerator, a Lindemann & Hoverson gas stove(green/cream marbelized finish) ca.late 1920's, two jelly cabinets and a large old oak cabinet that looks like a Hoosier cabinet(only bulkier). I'm jadeite green with envy over your ice box and your dry sink! :D So does the hand pump work? Was that hard to accomplish? I'd very much like to have a hand pump inside. This year is my target date for house completion.....I hope.....

Dennis -

Very interested in seeing pictures of your kitchen. I have a 1912 home where the kitchen has been redone sometime in the 50's. Eventually we will gut this end of the house and redo the kitchen and we would like to have some of that 1912 charm put back in. Please post some photos very interested in what you have done.

Check out this site. I asked hubby for stove and fridge for our house. We live in an old farm house and I want to bring the kitchen back to basics. They are modern, but do not look it.
