Cherish your mother, each day on this Earth, for we never know who many they'll number.
She is the sun and the moon and the stars above.
She is the hand on the cradle and the giver of life. She is the heart of the home and the loving wife.
Cherish your mother, give her your love for she asks for so little and gives all she has, so each of her children feel safe, warm and whole. Cherish your mother this day. Give her a call.

Just my thoughts for this Sunday morning.
G

Very sweet. I have had a "bittersweet" relationship with my mom for years. I love her to death, yet she knows how to hurt me more than most. It is amazing the power a mother has on a daughter . . . even when grown. I hate when she is upset with me. Anyway, while our relationship is far from perfect, I cherish her and make sure I talk to her several times a week. I guess it is kind of like a marriage . . . through good times and bad. Thanks for the sweet reminder.

Beautifully said Georgann - are you okay? How is your mom doing? I have been thinking of you while I am going nuts here as usual.
Love you

Georgeann- There isn't a day goes by that I don't wish I had more time to do just that. I am now the age my MOM was when she died (47).
She was a gem, and I'm glad she knew how much she was loved, just wish we had more time together. I'm glad you too know the value of your dear Mom and cherish your time together. Hugs to you both!

with a happy heart

Brenda, I'm so sorry. You are such a good daughter, I can tell. Kathy, my dear friend, thanks for asking about Mom, she sends her love to you and she is doing as well as can be expected. She is so brave and strong and all of those things I hope I can be to my daughters some day. Bramble...my heart goes out to you too. She will always be there with you in your heart. I know it must be weighing heavily on you this, your 47th year. My prayers and love go to all of you dear farmgirls.

Georgeann, thanks for your thoughts. Beautifully said. Since becoming a mom myself three months ago, I find myself thinking of my mom so often. We have always been very close, but experiencing this new kind of love that I have for my daughter and knowing that my mom has that same indescribable love for me...I have such a stronge new sense of who she is. Watching my little Stella sleeping, I can only hope to try to give her what my mom has given me.

We had everyone over for a Valentine dinner last night and Mom fell asleep on the couch. So I got the blankets out and tucked her in as my hubby tucked our daughter into her crib. I cherish each moment.

Thanks Georgeann.

Oh GeorgeAnn you are so right! I lost my mother early and I miss her so much - I might add to cherish your substitute moms and women friends and all your farmgirl friends as well....

I am visiting with my momma this week in Florida. I look just like her, my daughter looks like me and on it goes. We are all so similar and different and that is what makes it worthwhile since we all have so much to offer one another. Before mom left for Florida (from NY) we used to talk on the phone at 7:10 pm each night. While we have had our differences, it seems to always get to a good place again if we allow it to.

I try to call my mom every couple of days and especially always on Sunday. Since my dad died last September, she is so lonely but I know she's trying to get out and do things. She doesn't drive and never will, so it's harder. She got us kids through so many things that now we have to help her to cope and get along. We've had our differences too, but she's my mom and I try to never disrepect her. I love when my girls call me now too. They make me feel so loved.

I.m estranged from my parents. There was alot of weirdness going on in that family. Lets just say they took the fun out of dysfunctional. Ive tried to create a much better situation for my kids and we're all really close. But I can't imagine having a relationship with a mother. in my mind mothers scare me to death. Luckily my kids dont feel that way. they know I would do any thing for them . they are my sun, moon and stars. And my beautiful granddaughters too.I think thats it s great that you alll love your moms so much!!
