Nikki I will be mailing your ornament out on Friday. I have to find something strong enough to protect it.

Dianna, we kids rode in the back of Grandpa's pickup. We never went far, four miles to the little country store or about that far to our mother's cousin's house. We three kids and at least four or five cousins, were looking for an Icecream at that old store, jumping out of the back of the truck and running inside. I will never forget the sound of the old wooden screen door as it swept us inside and then made that noise that told us it had closed behind us.
Now there was another old truck by the hen house. We kids went "driving" every evening after supper.( this was while our moms cleaned up the kitchen. And before we walked a mile to the creek, with our soap and towels, so we could wash away the "granny beads" and farm kid grime. )Of course there was a sprint and fuss about who got to "drive". There were no tires on this old rusty truck, but the top of the wind shield cranked out, ( sooooo coooool!!!)as did the little corner windows. We had many adventures, and never ever saw a snake...I guess all those noisy kids scared them away.

Thanks friends, memories are pretty special aren't they. Dianna, I think your dad must have been a great dad to drive you around until you were sound asleep.
