I'm noticing several of you have photos on your pages. Not just the cutsie little ones alongside, but up there in that top block with the heading...or as a background...and I'm JEALOUS!!! I want that!
For instance, I'm right now looking at Ocean Farmgirl's blog, and she's got a picture of a squash flower on it. I want to do that! Not with a squash flower, of course (well, maybe this summer), but how do I get a photo there?
Help me, help me please. I need help.

Tracey, When I put pictures on my blog I use flickr.com spelled without the e. I didn't want you to think that is a typo. I have to have my son or daughter help me from there. But my daughter already made up an account. flickr may have a link that walks you through it. not sure. Wish I could be of more help. |

Tracey, I dont know how the new blogger beta works, but you used to be able to get to the html from a tab along the top when you were making a new post. But to add a header you first have to design the header and save it online somewhere like flickr or photobucket. Then find the html for your template (maybe someone can help with this?) Then scroll down until you see this in the code:
<div id='header-wrapper'> <div class='header section' id='header'><div class='widget Header' id='Header1'> <div class='titlewrapper'> <h1 class='title'> Mustang Diaries </h1> </div> <div class='descriptionwrapper'> <p class='description'><span><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/131/350642371_635cdaefe1_o.jpg" width="600" height="386" alt="2007 banner058" /></a></span></p> </div> </div></div> </div> Do you see where the flickr.com image appears in the code at the bottom? Just replace that whole section from the <p> before it to the </p> after it with the new info.
It is really confusing to say the least. So if you will give me the addy for the image you want to use, I can write the code for you.

It's very easy.... LOL I also have a flickr account. I have the "pro" account now, but you can do what I'm going to tell you with a free account. Here goes:
1. Load your picture to Flickr. 2. After the picture is loaded, view that photo's "page" (click on the picture after saving) 3. On the right side of the screen, you will see a bunch of goodies. Click on the one that says "see different sizes". 4. Once you are at the different sizes area, find the size that is closest to 600 pixels wide. (You can resize you photo before you load it to Flickr if you know how, otherwise don't worry, and just get one close) Once you click on the picture size, and it comes up, there will be two codes. The HTML for your picture, and the URL. 5. Highlight and copy the HTML (it's the one on top) It will look something like this: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/your account name will be here/381951493/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/166/381951493_2329e626f3_o.jpg" width="600" height="226" alt="Your picture's name will be here" /></a> 6. From here on out, you will need to have the newest version of blogger to follow what I'm saying. 7. In the area for Template, under add and arrange page ellements, click on edit on your header area. Paste the code for your picture into the DESCRIPTION area. I did't want my title to show, so I also went to edit colors and fonts, and made the blog title color match the blog background, and then I shrank the font very small using that editing feature.
That's it! You can email me if you need help. rachel

Wow, that has gotten much easier in the new blogger beta. Good for them! Much easier now.

It is MUCH easier to use blogger now. They are out of Beta, and slowly switching "old" users to the new beta. I used the old until they offered the beta. There's only a few things from Typepad that I haven't figured out a way to make, and blogger is FREE. Can't beat that! LOL Putting links and all of those things is WAY easier than it was before. You don't have to know HTML anymore.
