I was just wondering how many of you have an etsy site and if you are experiencing luck with it? I would love to visit all of your sites that have one if you will post the link. Thanks Kathy

I love etsy...not for selling but for buying here. Great idea on getting all of the etsy shops together.

I have been thinking of setting up my own etsy site and selling stuff. Have you all had much luck at selling on there? Is the process easy and is it expensive? Do you all have any tips for someone like me who would like to get started? I was thinking about making some crocheted purses to start with and some reusable swiffer covers that I make for myself. How do you all determine what sells well? Sorry for so many questions but I have been wanting to something like this for a long time and I feel like I want to try to get started soon.
Thanks

I am very happy with it so far. It's all set up so well. I look forward to browsing through other farmgirl Etsy shops!

Hello, I really do like etsy. It is less expensive to list on that website vs ebay. But, I did list a bird's nest pendant on ebay, starting at 99 cents!
My user id is love-janet Also check out my listings on etsy www.lovejanet.etsy.com
Good luck everyone!

Yes, I agree with Erin. You need to constantly add new items on the etsy site. That's what I'm trying to do too.

I love Etsy, so I think this thread is great for pulling everyone's shops together. I have a shop of my own, but I don't have any items for sale yet. I'm trying to build up a little inventory before I list so that I maximize what I'm offering. And I think I'll have more time to do it this summer after I graduate. Anyhow, it's http://shadetreestudios.etsy.com. I'll let everyone know when I'm officially open for business!

It was either procratination from working on my thesis or inspiration at everyone's awesome sites, but I ordered the remaining craft supplies I need, so I'll be listing my stuff on my site soon! I'm so excited and will keep you all posted!

Good deal Julie. Do you have any tips, or anyone else that matter for getting your etsy site out there for people to see. Kathy

I know something that I'm doing to start promoting my site is listing it in all my signatures in all the forums I'm a part of (5 currently) and in my email signatures for both of my email accounts. I also advertise my blog in this way. For my Etsy site, I've created some simple business cards, which I plan on posting in my apartment building and some of the bulletin boards in shops and cafes that I frequent. I've also recruited my family by sending willing people business cards to place around their towns, or putting my web address in their email signatures if they're willing. This summer when I'm done with school I might also try to get in at some craft fairs, just for fun and to see how it goes. Also, on Etsy I always make sure I "heart" shops and products that I really like; you can gain exposure that way-- I know one of the ways I find new shops is by seeing who likes what at the shops I already frequent.

I think I have everyone listed on my favorites now. Getting them all together in one thread was a great idea.

Don't forget mine. ;) http://mugwortmaggies.etsy.com
I developed some really delicious chocolate lip slicks last night inspired by the godiva cream coffee's. I'll be putting them up this week!
