And of course you can't scold her. With those big brown eyes I would probably offer her another one.

LOL! Your post title reminds me of the commercial when the dog brings, a bathing suit top, pizza box with pizza and other things to his owners door. And, yes, those brown eyes just get you. I had a half German Shepherd half lab a long time ago. He once stole an entire 2 pounds of hamburger meat off of the TOP of the refrigerator and licked the styrofoam and saran wrap completely clean. And when I got home he was laying on the floor, his muzzle on the floor, and those brown eyes just looking up at me with that "I know. I'm bad." look. LOL!

My first dog Morgan once stole a steak that was grilling on an outdoor grill.

They have no shame because they know they are the boss of us. We are their servants.

My cat Charlie once stole a steak from the counter when my husband had gone outside to start the grill. He also loved anything to do with bread. If we forgot to put the bread, muffins, etc. we would wake up with crumbs everywhere. Our dog is not really bad. She gives me the look when we wants to go with my either outside, or in the car. You are so right, you just refuse the look. Becky

My husbands Dog Sterling stole My husbands Dentures and ate them. Spendy Lesson for my husband! Then another time my husband had 5 $20.00 bills laying on his desk to give our son. And when he got up in the Morning the Dog had eaten 2 of them...and a 3rd was eaten in half. The Bank made that one good. The same dog when he would get mad at my husband but wanted me to deal with my hubby about the issue...he would go chew something I was knitting...Or steal things and put them in a pile in my room. Dogs can be funny and so smart it is scary!!

It wasn't your ice cream cone . . . you just didn't realize that you were getting it for her.
