Who wants to do another knitting swap? Here are some ideas:

1. Spring-Themed Magic Yarn Ball Swap

Wrap up small treasures and treats in one skein of (high-quality!) yarn for the recipient to discover as she knits with it or unravels it impatiently upon arrival (my style). Yarn must be enough to make a hat or mittens or something small. Treats/treasures are things like charms, candies, bookmarks, stitch markers, etc.

2. Spring-Themed Handknit Dishcloth Swap
Knit two dishcloths in springy colors for your partner and send them off with a few other spring treats - garden seeds, Easter chocolates, etc.

3. Simple Spring-Themed Yarn Swap
Pick out some fantastically springy yarn (high-quality!) to share with your partner - must be enough to make a small project such as socks or a bag. Throw in some springy treats and settle in to wait out the winter!

4. Spring-Themed Handmade Stitch Marker Swap
Have you ever wanted some of those too, too cool stitch markers that you see in the yarn shops? They're really easy to make with some beading wire and neato beads...let's craft our own! Make a half-dozen stitch-markers to share with your partner along with some cool springy yarn and fun springy treats.

Don't get me wrong here, there's definitely a spring theme going on with these swaps, but I'm still loving our winter up here in Minnesota. (It will finally be below zero this weekend...woohoo!) I was just thinking spring for these since the send-by date would probably be around March 15.

Please reply with your top choice and we'll see who's interested. Swap will open February 5, so get your vote in right away!

Knittily yours, Catherine

I vote for #2, the dishcloths
Especially since this is the only thing I can knit so far...would it be OK for me to sneak in on this one with crochet instead of knitting?

Oooohh, Catherine, I'm in for any and all of the above. The Magic Yarn swap sounds FANTASTIC, so that has to be my vote if I can only pick one. I already have some great ideas for that one...

You can pretty much consider me in on anything that involves sharing with my farmgirl sisters, knitting, and surprises!

I'd like to do the dishcloth swap, as I'm interested in making some cheap dishcloths out of some nice sugarncream cotton anyway.

Decisions, decisions....I'm not good at those. I'm torn between stitch markers, magic yarn, and dishcloths. Since I could make stitch markers anyway and put them in the magic yarn I guess I'll vote for that one. Just sounds different and fun, but dishcloths is a close second. I'm down with whatever!

Hi Catherine,

I'm up for any of them but the Magic Ball swap sounds fantastic. Please count me in. I think I'm becoming addicted to the swaps. Hey, I thought you were tired of swaps????

I can't recall saying that I was tired of swaps! How could I be tired of making cool packages and getting cool packages? I may be a little stressed about the millions of projects in mind to actual MAKE with all of this great yarn, but tired of the swaps? Never!

I think the dishcloth one would be a lot of fun!! Has anyone else seen those nice garden dishcloth patterns from Annie's Attic? Just the pattern for the theme at hand...

Well, I was going to vote for the stitch markers, until Megan said, make them and put them in the Magic Ball! So I guess I'll second that idea!

Dishcloths, but can we do crochet them if we don't knit?

Either the Magic Ball or the dishcloths would be fine with me.

Choices, choices...let's see, since I am so busy with our move, I might bow out of a swap for now...but, my choice would be the dishcloth...who won't use a pretty spring-time dish cloth?

Instead of doing two at once, why don't we do one in Feb/Mar and another in Apr/May and another in June/July, etc.? That way they'll be spread out a little more, and we'll get to do each of them.

That's what I was thinking too, Kathy, that we should spread them out. It looks like there is a ton of interest in the dishcloth swap and we don't want to overburden our MJF Knitters all at once! I'll post details about the dishcloth swap and will open it up tonight (thanks for offering, Erin!) so there's plenty of time for actual dishcloth knitting. Magic Yarn Ball Swap after dishcloths?

Would it be okay for crocheters to join this swap, too?

Hi Catherine, I just looked over your blog, OOh My Goodness. I love those socks...I would pay someone to make me some..I just can not get the hang of socks on 4 needles...Do you have the pattern for toe-up socks other than whats on the blog????

But the dishcloth swap is interesting to me, either Knit or Crochet is okay....can you sign me in?

Now that the Spring Dishcloth Swap is wrapping up, we don't have any current knitting swaps going! Just reviving this post as a way to generate some ideas on what could be next. Does anyone else have some fun ideas? I will bow out of hosting the next one, so if someone else wants to step up and start a swap, just jump in!
