Yep,,, my DH of 44years, and I, we ran away from home,,, oh and we took the dog! lol!

We decided to drive up to Yosemite even tho' it is tourist season... Yosemite is about a 40-45min drive from our house... but it was so hot we figured being in the high elevation would cool us down...
The water fall in the back ground is called 'Bridleveil" a popular tourist photo op location! We drove up to the falls, hiked up and gazed at it in awww... like so many before us and with us...
It was a wonderful day to 'run away from home'...

Yosemite! My heart! My dream, once upon a time, was to be a park ranger at Yosemite. Life took me in a different direction, though. Now that we live in the PNW, we're planning a road trip down there.

What a fun adventure and beautiful pictures. It's always nice to run away. I bet your puppy was glad you let her tag along.

Hubby and I also purchased our "Life time Senior Pass" while we were there..
If you are 62 and older you only have to pay a onetime fee of $10... what a bargin! Especially it you live close by a National Park like we do.,,

Grace, great pictures! We spent a week at Yosemite park a few years ago. Magnificent! Have you ever been to the bristlecone pine forests in California and nev.? Those trees are the oldest living trees in the world. Fascinating place! Come visit us in Minnesota and see Lake Superior, headwaters of the Mississippi and any one of our 15'000 lakes.

So very jealous! My husband and I ran away to Shepherdstown, WV back in April, but I don't know if we could count it as "running away" because I had to arrange for my Mom to take care of the cats. :-)
