Has anyone heard about the Row by Row quilt experience? I have just heard of this. Apparently, quilt shops from all over the country (and "Canada" based on a theme design a row. Between June 21 to Sept 21 you go to a participating quilts shop and can get the pattern for free (or puchase the row quilt). Then sew them together for a quilt!

For a camper and traveler for work, this is a fun idea and a great way to see and support small, local, quilt shops.

They have been doing this for several years. I've collected some of the patterns, and several kits, but haven't made any of the rows yet. I do know people who were the first to get their RxR quilt done and got prizes from the quilt shop for turning it in.

Yup. Did it Last Year!! Got some awesome patterns and kits!
And no, I haven't started them yet, either.
Loved last years rows... but I'm picky and got some that are whimsical and some that are lovely forest/mountain scenes.

They are just starting to post things and there's not a lot online to see yet.

I seriously WANT the pattern from Weatherford TX !!!! My greyhound's name is MIGUEL, but. lives with my girlfriend now and her 2 Greyts!
Where is Weatherford , TX ?
There's also a nice one this year from Sharman's in Tyler Texas.
I'm sharing the ones I like to my Facebook page, so I can review

We have been known to trade patterns with far away friends . But, I'm bought a lot of Rox X Row patterns, because I couldn't get to the stores.

Who else likes to do this???

Weatherford is around Ft. Worth, I think.
Tyler is about 65 miles south of me.
You can probably find a farmgirl near those places to pick up the pattern for you.

I know Mary! So many cool ones all over the country. One of my camping friends and I were looking at all the states. Both of us were "hmmm, who do I know the lives near....." Hoping to but one together.

I'm vacationing, LOL! I just HAD to get some fabric to go with a pattern I want to make, and went to 7 quilt shops here to find what I needed. Found it! $118 later I had 7 FREE Row x Row patterns. LOL!

LOL! I do it a lot more than I should. It's not like I don't have more quilt projects to do that I already have all the fabric for.

We are called the "1 yd Wonders"
I buy 1 yard of a fabric just because I have no immediate plans but don't not want to buy the fabric just in case I do need it for some future project... after all... you just never know when you will need that 1yd for something!!!
oh wait!... and I did that just recently... I bought a yard of a sweet fabric about 4-5 years ago... and guess what? I got to use some of it just recently... for Linda's mini apron swap... lol!

Well, if I see a fabric I like I usually buy 2 yards, unless I know it would be for smaller projects. That way it COULD make a skirt or top. They say if you see a fabric you like you'd better buy it, because, except for the blenders that they keep making more of, they usually only make it one year and then throw away the molds. LOL!

I've never heard of a row by row quilt. Sounds interesting though.

You can go to Row by Row on Facebook - almost every shop and the main group - has a page. If anyone picks them up, I'd like copies of all patterns that have RVs, trailers, and motorhomes on them.
