Well, if you read my blog or read last month's MaryJanesFarm magazine, you know I am an obsessed collector of Vintage Sewing Machines. I am now more picky as to what I add to my collection, and as of this point I am not collecting for resale, so I don't pick up every machine I see. This one, though, I could not pass up. My dh is the best. He drove me over an hour to pick her up. She is from 1926. Her decals are not ones you see everyday, and they are mint! Her cords have been removed, but I am going to take off the motor and convert her to a handcrank for outdoors.
She came with a wooden dome top, accessories, and a key for the top.
What do you think a good name would be? I am thinking "Bella", ]
Just wanted to share, as I think she is one of the prettiest I have ever seen.

Bella sounds very regal for a very regal machine. Your machine is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The decals are just gorgeous!
I would say your over hour drive to pick up Bella was well worth the travel time. She is a beauty!!

Thanks, Deborah! Someone must have worked on her before, as she is clean as a whistle. I don't have to do anything to get her going except get a hand crank.

How about "Little Mary Jane?" Like our own Maryjane Butters she is little but mighty, beautiful, hardworking and certainly does not show her age.
Just a thought.

Nicole, this has to be my favorite! The decals and colors are stunning! Bella would be a beautiful name for it.

Thanks, Farmgirls! I can' t wait until the hand crank piece comes in I ordered. I have a little dream of sittin' on my shabby chic porch, a glass of frosty ice tea in a mason jar next to me, listening to the birds and sewing with my daughter nearby reading (she reads and I sew when we have downtime), my doggies snoozing in the sun. Sounds good, right?
I still can't believe how beautiful she is, especially for her age. Figuring out the shuttle bobbin will be a new experience, lol!
I think Bella is her name. However, Deborah I love "Little MaryJane" for my little red one that my husband gave me for Mother's Day. What do you think? See it here: http://www.farmgirlbloggers.com/12237#more-12237
MaryJane, would you mind me naming a little favorite machine after you? She's a special one!

Nicole, Your little red machine is adorable. What a sweet hubby you have. I think "Little Maryjane" would be beautiful for this little darling..
I love the name Bella for your newest addition. Sweet how you give them special names.
