Often times I buy used sewing patterns for the graphics... as well as have been the recipient of unwanted patterns.... 'sew' what's a good farm girl to do especially if the pattern or pattern size doesn't work for you?
I remove the tissue paper pattern, iron it (if it needs smoothing)..... and reuse it as tissue paper when wrapping a hand crafted gift rather than buy the color dyed tissue paper.
You can wrap the gift with the pattern tissue and tie it up with bits of twine or lace.... or just crumble the tissue as filler in the gift box... either way it's a great re-use and kind of fun to receive ...

Recently, I received my swap wrapped up in old patterns and I thought it was just the cutest idea!! It makes fantastic wrapping paper for someone who loves to sew and do handwork.
Thanks for bringing up this idea, Grace so that others can use it too.

I've received and given gifts wrapped in pattern tissue paper. I haven't done that with patterns I've used if they have all the pieces, but have with some that I know are missing some.

Pattern tissue is great for making paper flowers too. Easy to work with and very affordable. Lots of them on Pinterest.

I'm going to make a lampshade for my sewing room covered with pieces from old tissue paper patterns. . .some of them are from clothes that I made for my children when they were young. I am going to use it on a lamp that I have filled with old wooden spools that came from my Grandmother and Great Grandmother. I found some braid with little buttons dandling from it to finish off the shade. I will post pics when I get it finished! I collect old sewing implements to decorate my sewing room.
